Battery Relocated...What intake to use??

I moved my battery to the trunk of the car, and now i need an intake to put the filter where the battey originally was. can i use this style intake?

I already have the filter adapter, filter, and rubber coupling to connect the MAS to the 3" pipe.

How did you move the battery? I have been wanting to do this but no one around here can seem to do it or tell me how. Tutorial? Help me out dog

Moving the battery was really simple. all i did was went to a local stereo shop. i bought about 22 feet of 4 gauge power wire. remove the battery, remove the battery tray and the support underneath it. go to auto zone or any auto parts store and buy new battery terminals. they're like $1.50 each. after you have the battery and tray removed, cut the factory terminals off the wires. splice the new wires into the old ones, there is a hole in fire wall next to the fuel filter where you can run the new wires to the inside of the car. run the new wires all the way back to the trunk under the carpet and under the back seat to the trunk. i recommend saudering the wires together where you spliced them together so you know you have a good connection and wrap generously with electrical tape. i used my factory tray in the trunk and bolted it to the trunk floor in the back passenger side of the trunk. i sandblasted my tray and repainted it so it looked nice again. go to the part store and buy a battery tie down, after you have bolted the tray to the floor and got your wires ran hook the battery back up and your good to go. i will take pictures tomorrow and post them for you. it's really east to do it took me about an hour to complete this task. now i'm waiting for my 95-99 eclipse short ram intake (S shaped) to come in the mail so it will look nice. i'll message you and let you know about the pics.

I did the exact same steps GalantSpeed wrote when I moved my battery over a year ago. Make sure you use at a MINIMUM 4 gague wire. 2 awg would be much better but hard to find. I picked up a speaker wire kit on ebay for 9.99 had like 15 feet of 4awg red and 5 feet of 4awg black. Used most of the red to run theline from the front into the trunk for the positive bat side, I unbolted the ground cable from under the hood clipped the length that has the bat conector on it and boltd the rest back down again and used that wire to connect the ground terminal to the frame. The very very first time i did this i used like 18 ga solid core wire lOL my car would start 60% of the time. Even with the 4awg it takes an extra 3 seconds in cranking to start it which my remote autostart hates so it usualy takes 2 or 3 clicks of the button to remote start the bastard in the winter time.

Hmm, I'd just buy a kit from Summit. They're $42 and have everything needed to safely move a battery to the trunk. (FYI your battery should be in a sealed box if it's within the passenger compartment [that includes the trunk] to keep the fumes in check) Yes, I am a safety weenie.

I went and bought a new battery, it costed me like $100, it's one of those vent free and leak proof batterys, i'm still getting a box built around it.

SO let me get this straight bro, you moved the battery to the trunk for what purpose exactly? If you wanted a CAI all you had to do was move it over like 2 inches...

What I figure is that you want to rest the filter element right where the battery used to be, that's sounds interseting. Get one of those HUGE filters, like the size of the battery, fill that whole spot with filter. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif
A FIPK filter would fit nicely in that spot, not sure what you would need as far as tubing though.

I duno what his reasons are but I going turbo and I need that spot for the filter and piping. I do whatever little things I can do now like isntalling gauges and what not in preperation for the turbo itself.

Ok, well i'm stuck contimplating this now, that eclipse intake the "S" shaped one, well at the end of the "S" it actually curves down, which is godo, if your throttle body is on the right(drivers) side of the car, which means it would curve up since our throttle body is on the passenger side. so what to do now???....i came across this intake on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...3&category=6764 ('http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2405888563&category=6764')
since this one is actually 3 pieces of material, two piping pieces that black plastic/rubber piece, i could easily flip the pieces around so they are facing the oppisite direction of the picture, have the MAS where the black piece is and then my filter would sit in the old battery place. does this sound logic?

i got an intake to work and i think it looks pretty good, the change from what i had is a huge difference.

i used a 94 accord CAI and rewired my MAS plug.
