Greeting from Cebu City, Philippines =)

I've always wanted an 8G Galant and was hoping to gather some background information here before purchasing one.

8G Galants are a little bit plentiful here but some friends say that I should stay away from the 8G and instead invest on a new one.

Anyway, for me why invest on a new one that I don't like the form wherein I can buy the one that I like (the 8G) and make it even stand out more among the crowd.

Hoping for a warm welcome here...admittedly, I only have a meager knowledge about cars especially Galants so I know that this site will help me a lot.

Welcome to TGC repapeep! I'm pretty new in here but I've been able to learn more about the 8G's since I bought one. I own the car for almost 2 mons. now and I'm lovin' it everyday. It sounds like you're on a hunt and I wish you the best searching for one. It's been agging me for a long time that some 8Gs look sharper than others...why is that? Is it just an optical illusion or something? Some 8g's looks to have a sharper nose...while some seems to have a boxy nose...here's an example...

The white one looks to be more sleeker than the modded silver...why is that?...or is there just something wrong with my eye? =)

The Green galant seems to have a sharp Nose...

The 4th galant seems to have the sharpest...as is the headlights and the grill are at an angle having a sharp look...why is that?

LOL! That sir is the King of the Road here...the JEEPNEY :orangecool: It's basically one (if not) the main mode of transportation here in the Philippines. Depending on the lenght of the Jeepney, one can hold at the back 22 people (the longest I've seen). Cargo/baggage can be placed at the top :002: The one pictured didn't have a roof rack so I guess it's for passengers only.

I wish i can have a Galant similar to your...the Silver in the 1st page is really screaming at me to buy it. I also wish I could lower mine to that low a heigh...you know the roads here..it'll be a nightmare with the bumper/side sirts and worse the bottom scratching the humps and the enever road.

Anyway, I still haven't bought a Galant, the good ones always slip away from me. Anyway eh I hope this year is going to be "the" year! I'm in the final stages of closing a deal on a Galant 8g and I hope it all goes well.

Just waiting for the "ok" from the seller and shake hands on it.

If the deal won't push through, I'll have to go my 2nd choice.

Anyway, jericho is currently under conversion from RHD to LHD. I personally saw it and dang...they're really thorough. I saw the Dashboard...it's already LHD and you couldn't tell that it was originally RHD.

Unfortunately eh no pics to post. My Importer requested for no picture taking during the conversion process.

LOL Its ok about the dents. it can easily be repaired. Unfortunately though...his mechanics accidentally grazed the center Console RALLIART CF with a large gash...I went teary eyed and almost fainted upon seeing the damage.

I pointed this to my importer and he went berzerker mode. he promosed to fix it...but somehow I doubt hecan fix that...DARN!!!!! thatwas a very rare piece of expensive accessory =(

I'm so happy with my VR4 and my importer... but at the same time, I was also diasappointed with them.


- They damaged my CF Ralliart Console Panel

- Lost the OEM Factory Air Snorkel during conversion

- for some strange reason the front passenger side fog lamp is now blurry...I wonder how in the world they managed to do that...

- and now after a friend pointed out, they seem to have lost also the OEM CAPS for the side mirrors...I didn't even knew hat they were missing...I thought they just painted them black =(

Sigh...anyway we're still not together my 8g and I because some papers are still to be finished...the Plates on the 8g are photoshoped.

Major check-up on him when I'll finally get him home someday.

One day my 8g and I will be together...but when hat day comes...it'll be the Greatest Day Evah! :038:

Yo Bro You really think so that they sprayed the Caps black? I noticed that the side mirrors were were black when I visited my 8g but didn't notice if the Caps were still there...kind of cool...the black side mirrors...I'm just only worried that if the Caps are gone.

I'll probably be visiting my G this end of the month or next month.

It's illegal bro here in the Philippines to drive an RHD car. It's a must to convert it to LHD.

I really wished to drive this home intact RHD and all...but if I got caught, high probability that the car will go to the impound lot :icon_sad:

It would have been cheaper too because I could have used the money for the conversion process for accessories and other stuff LOL! :laugh:

I finally got my 8g last end of August wohoo!!!

It was fun and...and a little bit scary because it was acting up when we finally got him out of the monkey mechanic's shop. A quick fix (in a different shop) got it going again.

Early the next morning the 300kms road trip from Davao City, Philippines (my 8g's home of 1 year 2 months) to Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines was fun especially with it's 6a13tt engine.

It's having a small hiccup problem though...when I try to push the car above 120-130 the engine starts to hiccup and you'll loose speed.

Anyway...more adventures to come now that he's here with me :icon_razz:

And still doing some added work on him. Gonna need a donor Rack and Pinion. The left turning radius is very big grr...for a U-turn to the left, you have to have a 4 lane hi-way to make it in one go.

If you're on a 2 lane road, you'll have to turn and reverse at least 4-5 times grrr....

Hopefully I can find a local 8g for parts.

Galant VR-4 adventure still ongoing and I'm enjoying every minute of it :clay:
