Here's the question on this...Does our 8g 4cyl and the 3g 4cyl share the same front stabilizer bar?????reason asking is because i'm wanting to upgrade my front stabilizer bar and my rear sway bar...i know that addco has a rear sway bar for out 8g but nothing for the front...wanting to know if the 3g front will fit for the 8g...anything can help....and has anyone switched their front stabilizer bar???

from everything i've read the addco rear bar is crap, i was going to get it to, but have since scraped it, people say it fits horribly IF it fits at all. not sure on the front though

I haven't heard of the addco fitting like crap?
as for the front, I have an aftermarket front sway bar that I bought from a member here, but when I saw the amount of work required to put it in, I put it off until another time haha

yeah there is a bit of work to install them, but there are also chassis stiffening kits that you can look for OP I think Cali had a group buy like last year maybe you can get it.

that group buy flopped his source was too expensive.....rear addco does fit like crap tho...I think i have the same bar as Beam RMR red 24mm bar..which isn't made anymore...stock 16mm isn't that bad i actually used the 16mm polyeurothane bushings for the 3g no funny noise or anything works good

Well apparently not all ADDCO had fitment issues. Mine was okay too.

if you allready have a front anti sway, do not upgrade it on our platform. it will make your car push and lift the inside front tire on cornering giving you LESS traction when you need it the most! upgrading the rear is a good choice but leave the front alone.

ROAD RACE ENGNEERING (on upgrading the anti-sway bars on the 3G) http://www.roadraceengineering.com/3gsuspension.htm :

"[Upgrading the] rear sway will make your car handle better by making it more "neutral". Stock, the factory gives you a car that "understeers" some. When you have the car all leaned over at the limits of adhesion, the front tires have a little less grip. The front end "pushes" some and does not turn enough. From instinct, you let off the gas because the car is not turning enough. This makes the weight transfer to the front of the car. The front end gets a little more grip and the rear a little less, your car rotates and you make the corner fine. All is good.

All is good except this is not the fast way to drive, having to let of the gas to make the car turn. It would be much faster around a corner if you could keep a nice steady throttle through the corner, gradually feeding in more throttle as you pass the apex and straighten out. The car would drift all four wheels evenly. Nice small inputs from the throttle transfer weight to the front or rear depending on where you want the car to be. A little more gas transfers the weight to the rear and the car goes wide, let off slightly and it sharpens up the corner. This is a neutral handling car. By installing a thicker rear sway bar (and leaving the front bar stock) you will make the car more neutral.

The down side, you need to be careful of what you wish for. If your car is nice and neutral, when you chop off the throttle suddenly the car can kick the tail out. The [Suspension Techniques] rear bar is made with a street car in mind. It is not a crazy stiff bar, it is even adjustable. There are 2 adjustment positions. It will make the car more neutral though and you need to keep this in mind. If you add a front bar, the car will corner flatter and give you a false sense of better handling. Also the bigger front bar will lift the inside front tire when cornering hard. This will give you less traction just when you need it most. We do not offer a front sway bar. "

the addco I installed for my friend fit perfectly. the install was a dream, had no issues with the install.

my ST sway bar, made for the 3g Eclipse was a PITA compared to the addco, but seeing that I had paid $50 for it, it was worth hacking the underside of my car.
