17's, 18's, doesn't matter. I'm interested in seeing how GTZ's look with aftermarket wheels at stock height. I dont really care what the wheel looks like, just interested in wheel gap. please list wheel and tire size if you can, thanks.

That's what I was looking for, real life pictures of new rims at stock height and not some computer generated ones. But I didn't bother to ask because so few people get bigger rims and don't drop. But hey, if you can wait for me to put on my 18s I'll have a pic for you of a car that isn't dropped https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

do you have a GTZ? if you do, can you snap a picture of the side, looking at the wheel and fender.

the reason i'm being so picky is b/c i want to know the exact tire and wheel size to make it not look like a 4x4.

thanks

i don't think the wheel well gap would change much if you're upgrading to larger wheels and keeping stock suspension because you would want to plus size your tires, meaning you would want to stay on stock outer tire diameter as much as possible to keep your speedo in correct calibration.

I am not to worried about the total outer diameter. Increasing the wheel size will in turn decrease the tires profile. If I get 18's, I would most likely lower the profile by 5.

No, I don't have a GTZ, but I'm gonna guess that you do, which would give you an advantage over me in the aesthetics department. If you think my car looks a tad too tall with 18s on then remember the GTZ is lower by about .3 inches...might not do much but it's a start https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

Actually I don't think that looks too bad...one question though...is it just me or do those rims stick out of the car just a little bit?

It looks like it does to me, I'm not sure if it's because of the low offset or if the driver wants it to look like that with spacers.

Thanks Dave, I was just about to post my link, and u did it for me....I actually don't have much of a wheel gap in the rear, a small gap in the front....I wonder how much lower it would look with a progress lower springs....

well if u put the progress springs on. then ur car would look like danj's car when he had ur rims.

The rear looks exactly the same gap as my factory springs, the front does look a little bit lower on Daves car than mine though....Is there any other kits that would lower the front a little more than that.....,besides coilovers....

if im still thinking right, danj doesn't have 2 12 inch subs in the back of his car to weigh it down. do im guessing with aftermarket springs will make it lower. as for the front, as far as i know, the progress are the lowest u can go. i took a look at the parts list and for the front, the progress springs drop the lowest. maybe if u got some i4 springs and slapped them in the front they might lower it a lil bit more.

Will the i4 fit on the front

Danger DANJ

Yeah but with Progress, they use the same springs for the I4 and V6. The I4 drops approximately 2" and the V6 2.25" so there is no such thing as I4 springs when it comes to Progress. Perhaps you can get some Eclipse springs and they will drop slightly more on a Galant since the Galant is heavier? But trust me when I say that not only will the ride be extra rough if you go lower than 2.25", but you will scrape alot. I rarely scrape the bumper anymore since I've learned to avoid high driveways and such, but the center member under the car scrapes quite a bit if I'm driving carelessly or in unfamiliar areas.
