Ok guys I picked up my m/t from a jy and when I got it it was missing the speed sensor leaving a big hole for dirt to get in. I have removed all 16 bolts as well as the snap ring at the end and still. Can't get them seperated. Anyone have any idea?

Honestly Fred, if you havent ever opened a trans yourself, I wouldnt do it.

I have a bad ISB in my trans so the trans is noisy, but since it doesnt do anything to how the trans works I just live with it 'til I can bring it to a trans shop for an LSD install and replace the bearing. The trans is really complicated and has some very precise measurements. As I said, unless you've done it before I'd bring it to someone who knows what they are doing to open it.

I 3rd it, you don't want to make it any worse, it'll just end up costing more money

Ah guess I'll just flush it with some cheap fluid b4 I put it in the car. I think that would def help. You think?

I would flush it with cheap fluid anyway. For you I would probably flush it a couple times or something LOL

lol just saying. You wanna clear out the crap if possible, especially since you're putting new fluid in there. For you, since there might be dirt contamination, I would flush it maybe like 2 times or something

I took my trans apart to install my LSD, its not that complicated. You just have to remember how everything goes back together.

I have never taken apart an 8g trans, only 7g, but on the 7g, it was just a matter of removing the bolts to the bell housing and it pulled off. Theres a gasket or RTV between the two, so you might need to give it a quick tap with a rubber mallet.
