I just wanted to get some info on these. I'm interested on some in the future but there are no threads about this. Please let me know what you know about this brand of wheels. My friend has an RX-7, he has these and has hit curbs a hand full of times an the paint has only chipped off so they seem legit so far for me lol

They look good to me. VIPTint has Sportmax's on his Galant. I think their offset are too low though, you'll need to run a lot of negative camber.

Cody, have you ever had any cheap knockoff wheels? or are you just going with what all those people who shit out money say?

Not all "knock-offs" are poorly built or made. Believe it or not, some of them are decent, I'm not saying they are better than Volks, Works, etc. I'm not saying all "Knock off" manufacturers are durable cuz I admit, some of them might as well be made with paper but some of them are actually pretty durable. Take Rotas for instance, people always hate on Rotas blah blah blah but half of them have never rolled on Rotas. AMS were racing with Slipstreams back when their EVO was still silver.

Not to mention, almost EVERYONE in the Philippines rock Rotas, because thats where they are made and I know a lot of people back home who still roll on their ten-year old Rotas. And if you've ever been to the Philippines, if wheels will bend or crack, it would be on Philippine roads.

Try it before you knock it, some people cant afford to drop THOUSANDS of dollars for a set of wheels.

nope I haven't used knock-offs, I guess I can't say anything about quality, I just hate what they are, IMO knock-off wheels are ruining the 'tuner car' world

enlighten me on why you think that?

If anything, they've helped the "Tuner car" community. With, decent knockoffs people who want to be a part of the community can finally play. Especially people your age, people who cant afford the $1300 for Regamasters or real Spoon SW's. I know you have G-games, but some people aren't as lucky.

I have experience with them, My buddy used his Sportmax's everyday on his 240. Drove it EVERYWHERE. Drifted and road raced with it as well, they held up fine. And as I said, ask VIPtint. He's got a set of Sportmax's on his Galant.

personally i would not get sportmax wheels. i would however get rotas if i was building a car for speed on a budget. sportmaxx wheels are like rocking pony sneakers, if your wardrobe is not so nice then a pair of plain shoes won't hurt, but if you are dressed nicely, a pair of low end shoes would actually hurt the outfit; does that make sense? rotas are however the exception to the rule, they are very well made "performace" wheels... not show wheels though. if VIPtint is running sportmaxx, it's probably temporary as a fitament experiment, since they are cheap, so he can find the perfect stance then upgrade to premium wheels once he's found the width/offset that would looks best. judgin by his other car, he knows what he is rocking is "not so nice". i've had knockoffs (konigs) and they were softer than aluminum foil. i had to keep replacing the wheels because when they bent, it would cost more to fix them then to get new ones. that was before i knew better. with the way my car is now, cheap wheels would bring the whole thing down. to me it all depends on what the rest of the cars is... a beater civic on volks is still a beater civic, but a clean, well done, show quality car on konigs is a shame.

bottom line is, there are plenty of nicer wheels that you can get besides sportmax for reasonable prices, just keep looking. if that's the wheel you like in their line, i would rather go with enkei ev5, axis super hiro, etc.
