View Full Version : Now I've got a big problem

Car wont start. Hit the key an all u hear is a clicking coming from a relay from the fuse box under the hood. Its one of the engine module controls. It doesnt turn over or anything. Its an 01 2.4l..any help is appreciated!!

sounds like a bad starter solenoid

hmm...thot that but couldnt hear a noise comin from starter so wasnt sure. Figured it was starter relay instead since it seemed like theres no power getn to starter.

are your battery cables clean and secured?

yea..battery cables an battery are fine. This started awhile back. It wouldnt start when id hit the key. then after a few seconds of hit'n the key it would jus turn over an start up.

Find the starter and give it one solid hit with a hammer, it should start but this will become a pain in the ass to do

If it starts after this method, that means is time to get a starter soon or risk getting stranded.

i would pull the starter and have it test at autozone pepboys or another store that does it for free. make sure there are no cracks on the battaery cable terminals, and check your relays, get a stiff bruch and clean the conections too just in case of corrsion

it totally works, i did it for about amonth when i was young and poor
