why shock/spring combo vs. coil-overs?

I dont like Coil-overs they bounce over every bump. The only way I know is to change struts and springs.

ummm seriously? c/o's cost more than shocks/springs

Coil-overs are the cheap way to go and bounce over every bump. The real way is to change struts and springs.

You need a buddy. I am located in Levittown haha. You are looking at the wrong coilovers and info if you think they are cheap. I have springs and struts, but I am planning to upgrade to coilovers.

Welcome to TGC we are trying to set up a meet next weekend here is the thread.

You got that all bassackwards man. Spring and shock combos are the "poor mans" suspension when you get into the performance stuff. The spring is just for a drop with a different spring rate maybe, but pairing that with a set of shocks not intended for a drop is only reducing the effectivness of the setup. ure the car looks cool, and probably rides nice...but if you are serious about the suspension like you are the engine build...prepare to be disappointed on many levels of handling performance over a coilover system.

Definitely need to get some pictures up of the project too though

I had coil-overs on my old 2001 Galant They bounced all over I guess things have gotten better. But I'm crazy about suspension and the only way I know is struts springs big bar upgrades and good bushings.

there is a guy over on c3g that is selling his Tein SS's for dirt cheap ! also you could look around there for guys selling their OEM strut bars which are a direct bolt on for us, i got mine over there for around 70 total, but you might be able to find something cheaper.

skunk2 is junk for our cars, but their pro c's (real coil-overs) are great, and widely used in the honda world, actually everything they make for hondas is pretty decent

It is okay to join TGC and talk about having a 4G64 "monster", but at least post pictures so that other members know that you actually own the car.

My Tein SS-P's has gone through a few winters and the perches still smoothly goes up and down once you break them loose from each other. I love the quality of my Teins but I want to get some JIC's one day.

What if any did you do to the cylinder head, valves, head bolts, cam, head gasket?

Well as you know the cylinder head is a SOCH head for my 2002 4g64T G, I wanted to keep it original and see what I can get out of the original 4g64 but build it up with all forged internals.

For the cylinder head, the head is P&P with brand new steal valves and everything else in the head is brand new. Also have RPW Stage 3 turbo camshaft/w Beehive valve springs, and changed my intake manifold to the 03 outlander intake manifold bc the TB is as big as the v6 tb so also wanted to see how much I can get out of that...im pretty sure a good number. Head bolts im using ARP head studs and I have a custom 2.2mm thickness head gasket from Cometic Gasket for my 87mm bore motor.

If you need help with anything just let me know or just PM me :039:

Does anybody know if a sonota/optima head with the 4g64 would work with turbo or should I just go for the evo 8 head?
