I have a 2003 glanat ES.. Golden retriever colored.. Bought it used. Recently after a tire rotation I noticed an almost popping noise coming from my passenger front wheel well.. I had my dad, aka my mechanic, check it out since he also rotated the tires and he was bewildered since simply rotating the tires doesn't really deal with the struts or suspension. I'm supposed to be taking a road trip next week and don't really want to be stranded. He thinks it could be at worst a scenario where i lose my power steering but any problem is still a problem. If anyone else has experienced this or know if the galants are known for having strut or suspension issues at about 69k miles please let me know what i should do.. any advice is appreciated.:icon_redface:

is the noise more like a bang, or like a thunk or a pop? when do you hear it? when going over bumps? turns? constantly?

thank you all for the reply's.. some more info.. it's only on the right passenger side.. i did a road trip from phoenix to Los Angeles this weekend and it does just fine at higher speeds.. above 50 and small bumps here and there.. it's really only at lower speeds when i go over smaller bumps.. and the frequency increases if those small bumps happen to be while making slow turns.. like into a parking lot or over a ditch scenario... anything else???

My guess is control arm bushing

My guess is control arm bushing

X2 on that. It could be the control arms or bushing, and while you add it check the stabilizer links. All this uses a small rubber with lubrication that acts like a buffer to vibration and shocks more like motor mounts. If the rubber wears out or break you will hear popping and banging sound when moved.
