View Full Version : How to remove the trim around the radio and heater

hi
i need a little help in my 99 galant ,, i dont know how i remove the trim around the radio and heater ,, there are some tutorials here about that but nothing is like it is in my car

it looks like this exept for the carbon :)

You just pull on it. I believe it's held by clips.

yeah but it is so stuck im afraid to break something ,, are there any screws that are holding on ?

Yes there are screws, in either wheel well you need to pop off the panel to the left and right of the bezel there is a screw on each side holding in the tray

Just pull the cover straight up around the gear stick.
Pull the gear stick to the back of the car then pull the surround out - pull out from the bottom.

use a plastic pry tool and take it slow to pop it off

^credit card or room key works perfecto! for the shifter trim...

you wanna take more care than just yanking!!! use a flat screwdriver on the side of the gear surround forst then 4 key areas on the surround by the stereo and by the heater controll then it wil ljust pop out
