so i bought my g in november of 09 and its been sitting dormant on the side of my house till i get my license this march. when i bought it the trunk was broken because the guys subs messed up the trunk bars. he did a super nice job on the fat mat through :) so i was told by a member to take out my bars since the trunk was sitting on a slight angle causing it to not close

i waited until it was somewhat not freezing out. so i took out the bars and they actually were broke on both ends somehow just lodged in there. the bars are no necessity for me to fix immediately because all they do it hold the trunk up (i think)

and i tried closing it and well. it sits even with the shell now, but no close, i tried messing with the latch and it looks broken to me. all worn down and such on the inner metal peice

ik not the greatest picture but its just not in working order. i was wondering if all i have to replace is the locking module or if i need another set of bars or anything else
and if so what do i need and where can i get them

Have you removed that plastic cover from the latch so you can see more of the latch itself?

go to a junk yard, and get another trunk latch and see if it works. It's all trial and error from here to be honest.

I've seen this before.. Check the u shaped hook down by your knees on the inside of the trunk that the latch latches on to.. Make sure it's all the way up. What I mean by that is unscrew it just enough to loosen it so you can move it. Slide it all the way up so that its as far up as it can go towards the latch, then tighten. You basically just have to adjust it by sliding it up. See if that works.

i tried messing with the lower part but its as snug and up as can be. i got inside of the trunk latch and the metal pullys and such that are supposed to be connected aren't. so i put them all back in working order and the last thing it connects to is this metal hook like thing that the hook is broke

in other words i need a new latch. i hope thats all. lol not 18 jigz most jy's around here you have to be 18. i was gonna go with a friend today until i found out the one he was going to, you have to be 18

lol anyone got a latch??

also if it hit up a junkyard would a 3g's latch work?

but ty jigz for telling me to take the bars out when me and 00galantguy visited. i wish i would have taken your adivce earlier. i had alot of fun with a hair dryer and a giftcard popping ice chunks out of the edging of the trunk today :)
