i have 215-45 on 17x7's

i love them, they are beefy and dont rub even lowered. i was going to switch to 225-40's but was worried about rubbing

stunner was running 225's on his 18's i dont remember if he said he was rubbing

My car is lowered 2 inches in the front and the rear on just springs. I use to have 225/40/17 tires on my 17x7 rims before I sold them. Had them on for 2 years and never had any rubbing issues..

i had 215/40/17 when i was slammed and never rubbed. i was on tokico illuminas an they were stiff and now i must say im back on a stock suspension and its just as stiff. might just go with 215s cuz of knowing. dont wanna spend 300+ on tires to have them rub

You should be fine if not lowered on 215/45r17 or even 225/45r17. Though I would suggest the first size personally.

Any reason you went back to stock height?

stock height is terrible. and it does look bad. once you put the JDM stuff on it will look so bad and off. it loses its sexiness

Chris get some coilovers you know you want to. Oh btw check this out to measure height and what not.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html You might have to roll for 225s, but should be a lot easier than when I try to fit 245s on mine hehe

225/45 17 fits on a 7g without rubbing, so does 225/40 18s
