Im thinking Im buying a 8g galant and I found that the current owner has to disconect the batterie due to the light of the open doors remains on no matter what you do. Is this bad or a easy fix, please help I really want to buy the car, does It has a way to fix, thanks?

Yea it sounds like its something like one of the buttons are stuck. I would push each of the buttons of each of the doors and see if it goes off. There should only be 4 different door sensors that would trigger the light. I dont have one on my trunk anyway. Not sure if they ever put one on it after 1999.

Keep us posted! + Welcome to TGC

Every door has a button and a plug that you can disconnect. That should stop draining the battery.

They shouldn't be hard to find providing there is an 8g galant in the yard. If you are having trouble getting parts you need, let me know. There's an 8g galant in my yard here and i have been parting out what i can on this site. Good luck with everything.

You're trunk probably doesn't open from the inside because there's a manual lock on the hinge when you open the trunk.. It's a little white tab sticking out of the side. Try flipping that and see if it works.. Also, for the glove box latch, you just need to replace it, it only takes two screws to remove. If you do replace it you wont be able to lock it anymore because your key wont work with it. The gas door is just two ten millimeter bolts. You will need to use a 1/4'' ratchet and a very short socket.

Do you want to lower the car or keep it at a stock height?

I was thinking in some way of getting the back a little bit higher but I dont know maybe is too expensive or it would damage the car...I gues for now that stock high
