Hey guys what is this and how important is it??? My parking brakes came with only one of these so I ask this befor I do the rear disc conversion.

is that the backing plate for the disc? cuz i know on the drums that is used to push out the shoes or bring them in, basically it adjusts the distance of the shoes to the drum surface.... you should have one for each side dude... i know my drums do... i'm assuming the disc should too?

that is to adjust the shoes so that they fit in the drums nicely. The parking break in disc brakes are still drums so adjust it and keep test fitting rotors. It should be snug.

can I just take it out of my drums? I only got one and yes these are disc backing plates

I'm trying to buy some more of these and all of the springs but I want them at a reasonable price

O'Reilly's has a decent price for all the sprins, struts and the parking brake adjustor. Plus I got the plates for a super steal....
