Got bored the other night and decided to take advantage of the nice weather. We went to a few local spots with good lit areas and took some pictures of my Galant. Let me know what you guys think.

Need some wheels man. The steelies look so tiny on the car

Munchie
02-22-2010, 12:01 PM
Nah, I have never been a fan of big wheels. I have a set of 09 Eclipse 18x8.5 wheels, but they don't look as good as the steelies with rings. I like the way the car lays out better on the steel wheels better too...plus 15" tires are a hell of a lot cheaper than 18s.lol

if you can, invest in a set of 16's steelies from a v6 at the junkyard

Hey G, thanks for the info. I didn't think that Galants came with 16" steel wheels.
Fresh: I got my setup for a lot cheaper than most could cause I install a lot of airride suspensions around her so I buy a lot also and the distributor cuts me a great deal. That being said I think the kit now goes for somewhere around 2200 or 2500. Yes its my daily driver. Drive it 50+ miles daily. Been to shows all over the southeast with it also.

Ahh, just looks bad with the tiny wheel IMO, but its your ride. I definitely understand the cost of tires though.

Thanks for the compliment, but that last part kills me. How is it not legit? I would like to see any one of the people on here that actually drive there car everyday and can drive their car comfortably for over 200+ miles as I have on many occasions and be that low on coil overs.lol If having fully adjustable in car ride height control along with the comfort of riding on a cushion of air makes me Unlegit then I am cool with that.lol

For the record I am in no way coming down on you for this, but it has been said to me in the past also and gets me every time. I went to a show in Nashville Tn called Import Alliance and some douche bagoosh came up to me and said that I didnt belong there cause I was on Air and I didnt have 4k dollar rims and a body/lip kit.lol

Thanks everyone for the compliments. It is of course a work in progress. I am usually to busy working on others vehicles to work on my own, so for me to get a chance to clean my baby up and take some pics it made me feel good.lol

Looks dope, bagged rides are the past, present, and future. Bravo.

You should set it off with some 17" steelies and trim rings.

Its the EasyStreet setup by AirLift. It rides fantastic. Like I said this is my daily so I need something practical and comfortable. This setup fits the bill perfectly. There isn't a parking lot I can't get into.lol The rims and tires are the original ones that came on the car, well the tires have been replaced of course, but with the original size. I am not out for the Tuner style for my car, so the stock 15s and Rings are just fine with me. I had to cut a good bit out of the fenderwells and inner fender to be able to get this low, so now, had I not drug half of it off, it sits flush on the lower engine crossmember.

Fresh_617
02-23-2010, 07:53 AM
do u know of anyplace that does these set ups and about how long do these kits last...and what do u have to watch out for....like a hole in a air bag or something?

Munchie
02-23-2010, 08:35 AM
Well I have had mine on for about 2 and 1/2 years. Only problem I have ever had was once when I was driving down the road I went to drag on this blazer that was riding my ass hard and drug through an airline that was hanging down. You don't really have to do anything any different than you would with a static drop. Just watch for potholes, debride in the road, etc... I install all my stuff myself, but that's my specialty. I do airride suspensions for all kinds of vehicles. I have had 11 vehicles on air personally and installed over 30+. Anyone with a good DIY attitude can do the EasyStreet setup though. It comes with every single thing needed, from air managment, to fittings, all the way to thread sealer/lock.

16"s I believe come on the 9G, 17" steelies I havent seen, but you can prob find them on some other cars Im sure as long as they have the 5x114.3 lug pattern and proximal offset.

02-23-2010, 09:05 AM
Nice if I could i would install air, its just so comfortable that you can adjust on the fly. And you can find bigger steelies from 9G galants and 4G eclipses.

OOOH YEA the bags are making a comeback the easystreet kit is the way to go if your going to do it, im going to swap out my fronts and management system to easystreet once i get back home and put away my hacked down airbagit SH!T the only thing i like about them is the way my rear looks slammed i have about 2" more tuckage but the ride sucks and they go out like every 4 months 60 bucks a piece so eeh. i personally cant stand the way MY car looks on steelies to much finder gap horizontally mine usta be my daily and i had HELL with my airfagit kit there isnt a part of my kit i haven't had to tweek or fix in the year and maybe half i owned it lol. but welcome back lol and good job

Yeah I am not a big fan of much stuff from AIM. I have installed a couple setups from people who didn't have enough money to buy the quality stuff. Every time I installed the PlugNPlay setups I had to completly rewire and re seal every single component, as well as the manifolds that come with them being complete shit! I have had the Airlift setup for 2 1/2 years now and had nothing but good luck. You definatly get what you pay for.

Well they actually are for sale. 300obo. I have a guy interested already and he is actually a member on here, but if that falls through they will be up for grabs. They have tires already, not good ones, but tires nonetheless. Some curbage also, but that's why I don't want much for them. Just trying to get what I paid for them.

Well fellaz I said I wouldn't do it, but I came across a deal I couldn't let pass. I bought a set of 18s for the Galant. Check it out and let me know what u think. Not sure if I like it yet, but I only gave 200 bucks for wheels and tires, cause the guy sold his eclipse and got a Fit. Pics taken with cell phone so don't hate!lol

Munchie
03-09-2010, 09:32 AM
I am pretty sure they are 1 peice. The rims I want are about 1500 to make and another 500 fro tires. So I won't be getting them for another good while longer.lol For now I may rock these with a slightly smaller tire, since these rub the rear when I lay it out. I am going to roll the fenders when I get home today, so maybe that will fix my issue with rubbing.

New wheels are 100% better...good job!

Munchie
03-15-2010, 07:08 AM
Ok, so the back bumper crease is my own personal stupidity. I was backing out of my driveway one night and my mom had parked kinda caddy corner to my driveway. So in stead of waiting for my car to build air, since I am a very impatient person, I decided to back out with very little psi. When I do this I have to go out at an extreme angle, and this time my moms Black PT Cruiser Rental car was right in my path and I backed right into it and never checked up. Luckily its an easy fix, since there are a few scrap yards around me with silver galants, but retarded nonetheless.lol

Thanks for the compliments on the wheels fellas. Today I am going to roll the fenders when I get off work, and get the new tires for the wheels tomorrow. They have 235/40s now and the new ones are 215/35s. So that will be 3 inches shorter and 22mm thinner so the car will sit at its normal layed out stance like in the pics with the steel wheels. These 18s will do me fine until I can afford to have my Centerlines made. New pics to come with the new wheels when there is a nicer day around here.

03-15-2010, 11:58 AM
Please run at LEAST a 215/40R18...the 215/35R18 are stupid skinny, and something a civic would run. Not to mention the tires load range won't be adequate unless you run max pressure in the tires, and that is never recommended.

Munchie
03-16-2010, 06:51 AM
Well from what I can remember they don't make a 215/40/18, or do u know of one? I can get the Nitto NT555 215/35/18s for 78 a peice! I have run this exact tire before on both my Accords and my Civics. I know they are different in weight, but the Accords were close and I had no problems whatsoever. Trust me I understand the concern, cause I had the same concerns about running such a slim tire when I first got them, but other than being a little more rigid over bumps and what not, they were perfectly fine. I appreciate the info nonetheless.
