Why the dinging?

Whenever I open my drivers side door, the car dings. You know, the dinging you would get in any other car if you left your keys in the ignition or left your headlights on. I know when I do leave the keys in the ignition, its the same dinging. And headlights, well they're always left on (because they turn on when you start the car, and turn off when you open the door, duh). Yeah I'm new to this forum, and just reciently decided I'm gunna start getting dirty with this car. Any help/experience?

Well I do know that the key reminder is different then the lights on reminder.... so what I'm thinking is the little metal tab in the ignition that gets pushed down when you insert the key, is actually,stuck down.... I would check that... if you want just turn the screw on the door sensor to disable it.BUT BE WARNED YOU HAVE TO TURN YOUR LIGHTS OFF AND KNOW WHERE YOUR KEYS ARE AT BECAUSE YOU CAN EASILY LOCK YOURSELF OUT lol
