I've been leaking coolant at the thermostat housing where figure#2 meets with figure#6. I noticed coolant driping from the bolts that hold these two pieces together. Could it be the thermostat having a bad O-Ring?

Please help.

Thanks.

I would just do the whole job.. If you're going to replace the o ring you might as well do the housing gasket and thermostat

^^^ What he said. Yeah dude, buy a new thermostat, they're like 13 bucks and get a gasket for the thermostat housing.

Yeah Im definetively gonna get a new gasket and thermostat then. Could I get the gasket any Pep Boys or is this part only sold directly from the dealer?

Well after replacing the thermostant, which also had a worn out O-Ring, I came to realize that the Thermostat case Assembly (Fig.6) had a pin needle size leak in it. I ordered this part from the dealer.

Has anyone else ever changed this part before?

i had a little hole on the part too! its where fig5 connects to fig6.

i put jb weld and let it dry overnight. also, i had to stick a bit of plastic tubing inside the opening to stop the jbweld from sinking into the hole. The next day i snapped out the plastic tubing, sanded a bit and replaced everything. so far so good. now if only i could figure out whats causing my p0300 codes but thats a different thread.

good luck man
