Want to change the 2 front reading lights. Having trouble trying to take the whole part off. is it different if i have the panel that has the sunroof switch. or do i just have to keep trying to pull down the whole panel off?

i wedged a key into the area where the entire reading light assembly fits into the ceiling of the car. aim it around the center of each light (by the curved portion of the light) and once you get the key into the ceiling, push straight up. u'll feel a metal ridge inside.. just keep the key along the ridge and eventually u'll hit a clip. fiddle around with the key and u should be able to pop the clip out.. do that on both sides. now.. i dont have a sunroof, so i dont know if your console comes out differently, but its worth a shot.

hope that helps

Superbrightleds.com

All though my reading/map lights in my 3g are different from your 8g, I have a 168/194 bulb that has 5 leds on it. It lights my cabin up pretty well. If you dont think its bright enough, I believe they remake the same bulb in a "HP" form. That just means high power meaning brighter light. Ill warn you though, some bulbs are a bit more expensive than others.
