Is it possible to use a 2004+ Galant Auto Shift Knob on a 2003 Galant?

The stock 2003 Mitsubishi Galant Automatic black Shift Knob is pretty huge(the size of Mike Tyson's Fist). Even though the shift knobs used in the 2004+ Galants are still ugly, I rather use those leather counterparts. I might want to retrofit it. Is that possible or do I have to stick with buying $10 Shift Knobs at AutoZone? If possible, please post links to where I can buy them.

if you still think 04+ shift knobs are ugly go buy an MDX knob its an almost perfect fit.

I rather use the 9th Gen Auto Shift knob rather than the 8th Gen. Is it possible to retrofit that?

its gonna take alot of work I got a ralliart nob along time ago and attempted you'd have to shave the plastic stick for it to fit and even then the metal rod the you screw in the knob is bigger so you'd have to bore the knob itself
