Who wants EYELIDS?

Ok guys... I did some wheeling and dealing and I got a hookup on 2 different styles of eyelids.

I got an email with some photos he sent to me of both styles, they are made of fiberglass and he will paint them to factory color if you desire. For some reason my private messages don't show up right when people message me through the forum, and it won't let me upload the photos from my computer.

A couple of you already emailed me directly, which I will respond to right after this post.

The rest of you, if you are interested then email me at [email protected] and I'll forward you the photos, and once he emails me back with confirmed prices and all that jazz, I'll email it to you also and give you whichever email address he wants you guys to contact him at. I'm estimating tomorrow or over the weekend when he's not working.

If I were you I would contact Cali about this. There has been a lot of scams going around with group buys lately and a lot of members are wary of them.

The guy seems legit to me, he's sold to a few people here on TGC, and has quite the rep on the club4g eclipse site too (which is where I found him)

I think krazienluv got his eyelids from the same guy, and if I'm not mistaken, so did LosAngelesRider. Guys name is Eclipse4eva (or something close to that)

That was part of the problem I was having, uploading them to photobucket. I think because I have my computer wired up so tight with anti-virus and firewalls, that it doesn't always wanna show me things from certain sites with a bunch of advertisements. I'll try shutting those programs down here in a second and try it again.

I just checked my email, and he responded back, and I think I got the photo thing set up, had to use my girlfriends laptop. Here's what he quoted me.

"$75 any style UNPAINTED + $10 shipping any where within United states

Just let everyone know that body shops usually charged $130-$150 to paint the eyelids, doesn't matter if they are just a small piece, they charge for labor, paint and supplys.

His name is Alex by the way, Eclipse4eva (or something like that) on the club4g eclipse forum. He says they make them out of fiberglass. If you wanna get them painted it helps to have the paint code or at least the specific name of the color of your car. And like I said I think krazienluv and losangelesrider got their eyelids from the same guy. Here's the pics he sent. Let me know if they don't work.

you can upload them to photobucket and then copy the "direct link" to the picture and click the little button just above the box where you type your response that looks like a mountain and a sun... then paste the link there...

oh and the lids look smudged cuz of my finger prints had to press down to make sure it stuck the lids came with 3M adhesive tape already in place ill i had to do was peel and place em on the light

I just talked to the guy, he just didn't have a photo at the time to show me of the ones he sent to Dmoney (the ralliart kind). So there are 3 kinds people. He says eyelids are legal as long as they don't block any light that is needed to see on the road. Which makes sense. All of these look like they would only block any slight glare that is above the actual beam that shines on the road.

that looks like it blocks a good portion of the upper (projector) lens.... how does it not block light?

FYI put more 3M tape or do what i did take the ones he sends with it on off..... my eyelid almost flew off and i was only doing 40mph good thing i wasnt on the highway lol...... anyways buy the wider 3M tape put some in the middle and on the edges it feels much more secure now

Dude just redo the 3M tape like DMoney did it will hold up, There's many members with the rear window visor, and I personally have vent visors and a antenna with 3M tape for over a year and they still strong, also many people with trunk lips, just redo it put the 3M tape all over the lids and clean the headlight with alcohol or something really good and install them push firm and hard and don't let it get wet for atleast a full day.

yea i washed the headlight and dried it then i put alcohol on a cottonball and cleaned over the surface where the eyelid goes and let it dry then your ready to go...... i went for a drive and took it up to 60mph and the lid is still holdin strong im glad i put the wider tape.... b4 my lid almost flew off hahaha

So something is blocked my question (needing visual proof) is how much seems neglible from the after pics but just wanna cover all my bases before ordering from the guy. Btw bro that style is hot glad you told us bout it!!

Look at the beam pattern on the wall man. Perfectly straight. If it was blocking the light it would be angled like the eyelid. Plus you can see the shape of the actual beam on the wall. If it blocks anything, it blocks any glare that a nother driver might get.

Have them 1 1/2 yrs now and never came off. Speed tested up to 200kmh.
I think the tape used to stick it on was body moulding tape. :orangebiggrin:

Haven't had a problem. If you're that scared go get some 3M double sided adhesive and cover the entire part that will be on the headlight. That will surely do it.
