Anybody with the Scoche or Metra DIN/Center Console replacement piece?

So those are the pieces I got. The stereo is supposed to be a single din configuration as you can see in the pics and you just snap the screen on to the unit. Well, the scosche opening is not wide or long enough to fit the unit or screen.

Do any of you guys have the scosche or metra dash kit? Anyone cut the dash kit to fit your stereos? Just wondering what tools you use and if the cut part of the plastic piece is a different color?

if you have a dopuble din dash why didnt you just go with a dopuble din screen? if its the security your worried about, jvc now makes double dins with removable faceplates
