My Galant has been occasionally making a noise when turning sharply left. Over the winter it has gotten worse to the point where it always does it now. If I lift the wheels off the ground and turn them to the left and turn the wheels either manually or using the engine no sound is heard. I didn't lift the rear and do this. Any idea what could cause this? Could it be something in the rear?

The CV boots look okay. I didn't see any tears in them.

How does the noise sound? Does it sound like its humming, clicking, grinding?

Sounds like a clicking or rubbing sound. I don't see anything it would be rubbing on.

its yors CV's going out. I know you said theres no tears in the Cv boots but there doesnt have to be tears for them to be worn out lol.

clicking when turning is pretty typical of CV joints that need replacing.

The car has 115k on it. How hard is it to change a CV? Do I not hear it when the wheel is off the ground because it then rotates at a different angle than normal?

When it's off the ground is it in drive? It shouldn't click unless the wheels are spinning. It's fairly simple to replace an axle.
