Anyone know how to photoshop some custom gauges for the 8G? I just purchased a head unit that changes colors and i really l ike the RED that it puts out. Now I would like my guages to be red themed. The reason why I want custom gauges and not to just put in red LEDs is for it to be very detailed.

If anyone is good with photoshop and can make some drafts for me that would be great, and if anyone can actually produce it, I've got $$$$. So just lemme know :)

Thanks,
Scott

well scott dont mean to rain on your parade but even if someone comes up with a theme guage cluster for you do you know how much $$$$ it is going to cost for a company to make JUST you one? proberbly somthing like your first born. led lights have actualy come a long way since they first came out they are no longer mono directinal. They are made to mimic the same light spread as a regular bulb. now for something like that all you would need to do is clear your needles and buy the right buld size. some people have thiers blue and it looks great.

Thanks Ricky, but I wasnt thinking of anything too technical. I was actually thinking about something simple that any one of us here on the forums can do. Something linke this:

I really dont know, but I cant see this costing too much to do, especially with our photoshop experts out here.

What ya think? It'll still be too expensive?

that doesnt look to hard or expensive its going to come down to having pesrcise measurments though so you guages arnt off and everything lines up. out of my league though lol

Try that. 2nd to last. thats of 99-02. You should be able to customize the color of the face, how it lights up, etc. Hope that helps.

^^ Man that's awesome how you can have the custom made gauges. I Would like to purchase those s7 gauges for my G, a lot of sites that are selling them say that they are for 99-01 V6 Galants. Will they still work properly? i know if they are 99-01 it doesn't matter if you buy a bezel, but it says v6 only. i have an 02 i4

some of our members did this back in 2000-2001 before EL gauges were available. somebody might still have the templates. among the ones i can remember off the top of my head were BGR and DANGER DANJ... but i think both converted to EL once they came out because it was so much cleaner. SPEEDHUT can make gauges for you in the colors you want (EL= face lights up, reverse EL = numbers and lines light up) and can even customize them further for you... they are a great company and my gauge cluster was the one they used to take all the measurements for their templates and prototype back in 2001 (i mailed it to them and they had it for about a month).

here's the first set ever made for the USDM 8G (my car):
