idk.

for sure, it should not be doing that. the first thing i would check is the transmission fluid level and condition. if that checks out good, look at the engine and transmission mounts. if that's good, you might have the gearbox going bad.

I've had the same problem with mine in the past. It started happening just after 100k miles. I added some lucas transmission fix; I now have 150k miles (on tranny) and it hasn't done it yet. My transmission has been flushed and then it started acting up again with just new fluids. I added more lucas tranny fix and its gone again. You need to drain your transmission fluid equivalent to how much tranny fix you put in.

Another thing, Make sure you adjust your fluid level from hot and in drive. You need someone to hold the brakes for you when your motor is warmed up. Check levels then, you may be in fact low. If you find the levels are good, please just do the tranny fix!

Here's a pic of the product:

You should be able to get it at most auto stores.

Yea but the additives recondition the seals and everything... The fluid doesnt.. I would put that additive in and and drive it around for like 3 weeks and if the problem is still happening then I would get it flushed... You have to be carful flushing a tranny that old becasue it can actually eat your seals up and blow ur tranny.. Thats why I would do the additive first... Or you know you can always use this as an excuse to do the 5 speed swap!! haha

Gs only can use Diamond ATF SP III fluid other wise they'll develop issues like what your having. Go to your local Mitsubishi and get your AT flushed and refilled.
