2001 Galant driver door won't lock

Hello,

Just bought a 01 Galant and realized that all the doors lock 'cept for the driverside. It's in the unlocked position, can't lock it manually (seems stuck) .. when I use the fob, I can hear the motor, but it doesn't lock the door. I've tried the key, but didn't want to apply too much pressure in fear of breaking it.

Any advise from the pros here?

EDIT: Looks like I'll need to take off the panel and check the rods first
