Steering locks and pulls.

I was driving to school the other day I went around a turned and I straightened out the wheels and went straight it pulled to the right so I turned it a little to the left then the steering wheel locked to the left and i was able to unlock by a big tug to the right then it started pulling again.
I would say the road would cause the pulling maybe but i drive other cars to school and it doesn't do that. Any ideas or advice??

Could be a problem with the steering column lock mechanism. By that I mean the mechanism that locks if you take out the key and move the steering wheel around and it locks. That could be problematic.

or theres a component at the bottom of your steering column i forget what its called couplers i believe there almost like hinges and there attached to the rack n pinion. but those could be bad.

My friend checked the car and the steering column was damaged or some shit. He fixed it and now it doesn't lock and pull. I'll ask him what it was.
