I don't fully know the area around the engine but the wiring described in the picture below has a better idea. What is it for and what happens when its not connected? Because it frequently gets loose and I want to ask you guys before I do anything to it.

Just hook it back and pinch it with pliers. Its a ground wire for your window shield heater.

Its your power steering sensor. It tells the ecu how much to compensate when you turn the steering wheel. Your RPMs are probably dropping everytime you turn the steering wheel right now. hehe. Nothing dangerous tho.

Alright, so I got guys who say its for my vacuum, windshield heater and power steering sensor... I'm a noob in auto so I'm guessing I go with power steering?

Its called a pressure switch but I tested it, leave it unplugged and see how much pressure comes out of your windshield heater. Then plug it in and feel the difference. Whatever it is why would a "power steering sensor" connect to the A/C compressor?

the technical term is called the Power Steering Pressure Switch. I call it a sensor because its easier to understand that way.

What does it do? It checks the pressure level in your power steering pump. If it is below operating value, it will raise your idle so that your car does not stall out. It connects to the AC so that it can shut off the compressor so the car does not stall out.

AFIK, our cars do not have windshield heaters. Unless you mean the rear defroster?

it is definetly not a vacuum line, ask the guys who told you that to backup their claim? whats the line doing sending vacuum (air) back to the ECU via a copper wire? LOL

if it were a windshield heater, wouldnt it go to....hmmm.... I dunno the windshield or maybe the washer fluid reservoir (its too short to reach that far and no place to plug it in)

Just like Qnz said, its the power steering pressure switch. Just reconnect it and move on with life.

BTW since I don't want to create another topic and the search is not answering my question.

Off-Topic, what is the best lowering springs you can get on a 03 LS 4Cyl?
