stupid transmission

uh oh well i think my transmission is on its way to break down. My transmission started slipping yesterday and jerks real bad between the gears. The only thing that surprises me it only has 68k miles on it... i wouldn't of expected for it to start slipping this early. Should i start saving up for a 5 speed swap on my v6?

Have you ever done a transmission fluid drain and refill? I think that would be a good start. Use the Diamond SPIII fluid from the dealer.

the guy i bought my g from 1 yr ago said he did a changed the tranny fluid at 50k Miles but i dont know if he used Diamond SPIII.

If this makes you feel any better, my I4 tranny has been jerking on me since 2006 around 65k miles. It is still going at 132k so far. Kind of became the norm for me.

There are some old threads on here, that talk about the transmission acting weird once the fluid was replaced with "compatible" fluid other than SPIII. Why don't you drain and refill it and see if it gets any better?

Check the trans fluid. If it's low, it could cause the problems you are describing. If low, fill it up.

talking to a mechanic at my work about a similar situation n a car I also have he told me to check the codes even though it is not showing a cel you might be able to pull one that refers to sensors in the tranny that tell it when to shit they are refered to as input output sensors and trhey will also cause a similar scenario.

well its gone from bad to worse earlier this morning it didn't want to shift into Reverse so i had to push it out of my driveway all the other gears still work but R doesn't anymore.

That's not good. Even though my transmission is jerking, all gears shifts when they are suppose to. Not the smoothest shift but it gets there. You should check your transmission fluid or see if there's alot of metal shavings on the transmission drain plug. My parents vehicle a nissan quest wouldn't reverse either, but all other gears work. Added transmision fluid and that temporarily solved the problem. Transmission was later replaced though.

well had to get a new transmission after it didn't want to change to any gear except park.

Sorry bro about your G. You should have check or inspect the car after you bough it from the other person. Maybe the other person was lying. Who knows? Anyways looks like your trans give up on you. Let us know how it goes.

yea i got another auto unfortunately i didn't have the time to save up for manual transmission parts and i need to my car ASAP.

well as you know i just recently fixed my trans but the one problem still occurs which is it won't shift into R until the car is warm'd up all the other gears work fine and doesn't "jump" anymore when i go from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd. Yes it has new diamond atf spiii oil and it's at the right level, can anyone lead to somewhere to fix this problem?

Did you change only the transmission, or did you change both the transmission and the torque converter?

sirs . . when you swap transmission from 4 to 5 speed . . is it a straight swap. . are the sensors,wiring and ecu compatible or the same?. . mine is in the repair shop right now. . thinking of plan B. .
