What Im trying to say is stop being an idiot with your car and stop risking your life or worse the lives of those around you. Get a rwd car if you want to drift and do this shit on an empty track where it belongs hand brake turns, jturns and the like.

That looks pretty cool. I been wanting to do that, but there's no open space with just snow around my area.

This is how not to treat your Galant and that's not drifting, it's sliding, by locking up the rear and sending the weight to one side thus the slide.

Wtf wtf wtf and wtf that's all I can say. What a bunch of retards. Always safety first or at least make sure you know what your doing and keep it in control... imo
And to g ride... I'm sure it was fun but you wouldn't of been laughing if you wrapped around a tree. Use your head bro...

yeah i know its obviously not your typical drift because its in the snow... but their was nobody else around and i wasnt really going all that fast either.

I like to drive my car and if thats a crime man whatever, plus i needed to wear out the auto tranny and the stock suspension before i did the 5 speed swap and got k-sports ;)

Enjoy it, I love driving my car too, but snow and ice are un predictable if you flipped over those boulders or hit a sign or trashed your car in anyway I would imagine you wouldnt be feeling great. I fucked up my whole front suspension when my G locked up on a turn and plowed into a curb. I thought I had enough control in the snow and I didnt. I bent and cracked a rim, trashed both my tie rods and bent a strut. I of coursed used it as an excuse to lower my G, but its that split second of unpredictability where you car either fuck up your car, yourself or someone else so just use your head and be careful bro.

I dont think he was hurting anyone, The area looks like a little culdasack(sp) not some busy intersection or a drift event where people are on the sidelines.

You missed the point, you can drift in snow or whatever. You just can't drift in a FWD car. E-braking and sliding is not drifting. You can only drift in a rear wheel drive because spinning the rear tires is what keeps the car sideways and around a turn, they are not sliding around a turn. They pull the e-brake quickly to send the weight to that side and make the car slide just a little, then the rear wheels does the rest. Again, if you don't want people to laugh at you, just call it sliding or e-braking. As far as the rest of the video, it was fine, no people around, not on the street, you had fun and that' s all that matters. Is it good for the car? no but it's your car.

He looked like he had a good sense of control over his car. People can hurt themselves doing a lot of things. Do you criticize them for everything? No. Snowboarding is pretty dangerous, but it's perfectly fine for people to do without being criticized. Please tell me how surfing a 30 foot wave, snowboarding off a 30 foot jump, etc. is any less dangerous.

I have been hurt ice skating, skiing, mountain biking, bmxing, and doing alot of other things that I enjoy and I have had friends get hurt doing that sort of stuff too. I have had friends die in car crashes before or come near death when they slid in snow and wrapped around a tree. I have had friends lose control when messing around on the road in the dry and get killed. That is why whenever there is a "look at me I was speeding" or a "I can powerslide my car in the snow" thread I will argue against it. You can ask galanttuner10 though, when there is a controlled auto x set up I have tortured cars. There is a time, a place, and a tool for everything. If you want to slide the Galant is not the best tool to be honest. Ive driven my bmw at like 35-45 degrees before spinning the tires and it is fun as hell, but like I said be safe and there is a time and place. If you want to risk hurting yourself for fun go for it. IF you want to risk dying while having fun you're retarded(IMO, sorry but its how I feel) I would have been even more accepting if he was in the middle of a huge parking lot doing this since there are no boulders or signs he had a chance to hit. I have driven in empty parking lots before too.

example:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a139/weirdo1808/SnowBunny-1.jpg?t=1273206388

That was in an abandoned parking lot that can fit like 100 cars and hasnt been used since before I learned how to drive in it. I also taught friends how to drive stick in it. Its one of the safest places to fuck around. Im just saying I dont want to see another RIP thread on here. We had FBI in 08 and now SilverSide just died this past week.

me too on a rainy day with the old 8g. bent whole rear subframe as it went up a curb sideways. cost me 1000 to fix. lesson learnt though!

enjoyed the video i feel pretty sorry for your trans tho.
