egr code 0400, funny noise from intake manifold, occasional smoke from cat converter, rides fine, louder than normal exhaust noise. Please help dont know if I should change EGR valve, solenoid,or cat. All three are pricey rather not change all three. has anyone had this problem? took of IM , removed e/t from manifold, cleaned put back together. upon startup IM was a little whistley, a lot of smoke from cat......but when I disconnected coolant and petro lines from IM , I do recall a little bit of leakage on the under area. when 1st started could have been that burning off. any ideas please I dont know who else to turn too. If you guys dont have an answer I will have to replace it all. cat definately needs to be changed.

You shouldn't have to do anything with the cat. We're talking about EGR flow here. Most likely you need a new EGR Valve. Before that, I would go back and check to make sure you put everything back together properly when you took off the intake manifold.
