If im not mistaken its a silencer box to quiet down the intanke niose, and you so called squeaky belt might be due to a loose belt, and its where all the other belts are spinning on the motor.

well if it is not fully attached to the intake, then you are getting unfiltered air through your engine.

dust = prematurely worn valve seats and valves

i was driving down the street and thought i ran out of gas at first bc my car kept dieing, but i wasnt on emtpy. pulled over and looked under the hood and noticed the air intake resonator came off. the car runs when i taped it back on but when the tape get loose the car dies.

wat the easiest way to fix this besides tape. i mean i could get a short ram off ebay for like 10 bucks, would that fix the problem if i put that on there?

Your car ran like crap because you lost the vacuum in the air intake. I would just get an ebay intake or a nice intake if you have the money. Or if you live near a junk yard just pull a stock intake off a Galant.
