I don't know if you guys like having blue numbers in your gauge cluster, but ever since I put white LEDs into the gauge cluster, my numbers became blue:
(pic taken during the day, its bluer at night)

Today I hacked into my modified 99-01 cluster and finally got rid of the blue:

I took a couple of pics along the way.
After you take out the gauge cluster, try to remember or mark the position of your needle. I used electrical tape.

Pop off the needles carefully (I used a fork) and then unscrew the faces of each gauge. Turn them around and start sanding the numbers. After the first thin layer of white, is a thin layer of blue. After that, it is clear-ish plastic.

I started off with a 300? grit sand paper to cut thru the white and blue, and then used 800 grit to clean up the scratches I made =(
After a few minutes, it should start to look like this. the little black squares is electrical tape, for the scratches in the front of the gauge that will cause light to shine thru. The electrical tape covered up the "holes" of light

Whole project took maybe 1.5 hrs
