Each year, Mitsubishi hosts Mitsubishi Owners Day as a special "thank you" to fans and owners. This year we will be hosting the first-ever East Coast MOD, taking place at Mitsubishi's Eastern Office in Swedesboro, New Jersey. This new location gives people from all across the nation the opportunity to spend a fun-filled day with other dedicated fans.

after years of us on the west coast and illinois having MOD, they finally brought it out to the east coast. you guys deserve it! have a great time! i hope one of our east coast guys wins best in show (it pisses the evo guys off to no end when we win awards at MOD over them). if you live within 5 hours of MOD, it's worth the drive as every year this is the biggest mitsubishi meet you'll ever go to... the california one is the biggest in the world annually and factory MOD at normal, illinois is not far behind. guys repeatedly drive 10+ hours to attend the west coast event.

over the last 5 years, galants were outnumbered at least 25 to 1 (40+ to 1 the last 2 years). we took home best in show 2/3 years it was awarded (MOD'06 and MOD'07 back to back).

actually for the people coming from Florida, I like riding the autotrain from Amtrak. It leaves from Sanford (near orlando) and arrives in Virginia (near DC). I think it was $175 for a one way ticket. You put your car on the train and ride with it. Leaves the stress off of driving, and you sleep thru the night. This way you wont be tired during the day. Cost of Gas + food + hotel cost just as much.

Its a 17 hour train ride. Departs at 4pm daily. arrives at 9am in DC. You get dinner, 2 electrical outlets. and a seat slightly bigger than an airplane seat. Im happy with the experience. I did it 2 round trips with the Galant and Eclipse. Just make sure your car isnt too low. lol

haha yup. i always take off the front bumper when i have to have the car towed (bumper has to ride shotgun)... and only on a flatbed. pain in the ass but it's the price u pay for what u've done.

What hotel/motel are you staying at?

It would be best if we can meet anywhere in Newark/New Castle. The place of the meet is a good location, but its 2 mins away from the ruff area's in the city and I would not suggest keeping the cars around that area at night. Good thing about DE is every thing is 10-20 mins away MAX so not alot of driving.

George: That rest-stop is about 10 mins away from the stadium. Its also on 95 which is the same road to the stadium, That would be a great "pre-meet" spot its very big, and on the way. Newark is 5 mins away from that rest stop, which is a good place to lodge and hotels/motels are widely available in that area. * MD guys will have to pass that rest stop soon as they enter DE anyways. NYC/NJ guys will add an additional 10 mins to get there, since your passing the bluerocks stadium to meet at the pre-meet. What do you guys think?

Newark is 5 mins away from that rest stop, which is a good place to lodge and hotels/motels are widely available in that area. * MD guys will have to pass that rest stop soon as they enter DE anyways. NYC/NJ guys will add an additional 10 mins to get there, since your passing the bluerocks stadium to meet at the pre-meet. What do you guys think?

The meet up spots along the highway need to be staggered. Rest stops on the turnpike are best for this as there is ample parking and easily accessible. You have to remember there are TGCNY people coming from BK, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk, etc, it wouldnt make sense for those guys to drive north toward the GWB to then drive back down south toward the pre-meet, for some it would add about 40 minutes to their trip depending on traffic.

Again, im not taking charge on this, im just throwing out ideas. I would take charge but I myself most likely will be driving down the night before or crazy early the morning of.

You guys should choose a rest stop on the turnpike a little south of the GWB and then another one in the central NJ area and keep adding people on the way down. This way the guys coming down from new england can meet up with the north jerz and BX guys near the GWB and grab everyone else on the way down.

I believe I read on another forum that MOD is from 10a-2p. It looks like it's just under a 2 hour drive for me from Woodbridge NJ. I am south of the Rest Area on the NJT by Exit 11. There are others below it. The next one south of me is south of Exit 9. Here is a list of all the rest areas on the NJT
