I really like your idea, your steppin it up big, Black Paint is the way to go, I don't really like the idea of the Super VR-4 rear extensions, for the rims I vote for the Rays although the other ones have more aggressive numbers. Suscribed.

The iForged no doubt. Fitment will be crazy with those wheels, MUCH more Vip-styled than the 8.5" Rays, especially since you have them with only a +19mm offset. Though, if you DO plan to run 20x10s, you will have a load of work to do on the rear quarters. I'd run a 225/30R20 or 235/30R20, anything else will have a very tough time fitting even with a load of mods. That is unless you plan a super-dooper-all-out widebody Galant.

If you want to impress the VSC guys (or Car show Judges), than you'll need the iForged.

This is how a simple 5-spoke wheel is still VIP.

A 8.5" +19mm is an aggressive fitment for a Honda. We can fit up to a 9.5" +20mm wheel. So, the Rays, however nice they may be, aren't exactly going to garnish any credibility from the VIP community aside from the wheel brand. Especially so if he wants to accomplish the look of the above black Galant.

Or these (on a JDM Honda no less)

Junction Produce Scara's.

ill be following this closely! i know a few of us in australia are keen for a VIP styled galant

you need a dash table too

also, if you go a 20" rim with an open face, like the iForged, you need a massive brake kit to get the VIP look, im sure some ksport 12pots or something will fill up the holes. personally id go 19's

the front dash table is still a possibility right now in ideating on the rear seat back tables (actuated):003:
i was going to look at 19s as a adsolute last resort because i would have to modify the skirts and front more to get it to set flat without scraping the ground (i like riding slammed lol)

I put both of the wheels specs in a calculator

This is the change from my current wheels which are 20x8.5 +38. I don't want to go any higher than 38 (like thats going to be a issue) because then they would rub aginst my air cylinder in the rear. So im all for a lower offset she might even lay out slightly more with extra MMs in the rear. The front isn't really an issue im swapping out my super low hacked up front shocks for some easystreet ones which set lower without any modification like 02on19s

annnd a teaser pic of the third project i will make and hopefully master as there may be demand for it later http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff115/ricky_db/reartablespowerjdm.jpg

First the progressive specs. Im still waiting to hear back from the vendor on a spec sheet for them, but since these rims have been discontinued its proving to be a task.
http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff115/ricky_db/progressivespecs.jpg
and the iForged specs which look better and better to me after i adjust he camber
http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff115/ricky_db/iforgedspecs.jpg

The 20x10" wheels are going to sit as far in if not moreso than your current 20s. Your current setup (20x8.5" +35) has roughly a 6.25" backspacing. The new setup 20x10 +35 has a 6.87" backspacing (roughly). I'd suggest running a 20x9.5 +25. You will need to test fit whatever setup you want, BEFORE you actually order it.

But 20x9.5 +25mm would have the best chance of fitting without major modifications. I have pictures of my car fit with 20x8.5 +25 and its just a tiny bit outside the rear quarter panel, but would be nice radius-ed or pulled.

I say the Ray's more clearance inside and barely any loss of flushness

They will stick out without close to 3 degrees of camber in the rear, and 1.5 - 2.0 in front.

i got the official word that the rays have been discontinued and all he has is some super low et ones that wont fit AT ALL :(

No loss, the iForged are better for your desired fitment. Though, if you like the Rays, there are wheels out their that are similar.

My ideas coming to reality. Let me know about the seats and where you get them done. I am planning on the same pattern and possibly adding a center console in the rear eliminating the middle seat. Kinda like the CLS 500 and Nissan Maxima.

Also got any ideas where to place the analog clock? I been originally thinking where the hazard light is however, I was told there isn't enough room in there for it. I have yet to check it out. I may try and open it on a junkyard 8g. I also got the Diamante rear map lights.

i was thinking about getting rid of the middle seat together as well but i decided that having a armrest in the middle would be good enough ill find some way to freak it out
and on the analog clock i dont know yet i was originally going for the hazard light spot too but ie pod or anything like that if anything i will find out what cars have the pop out dash board cover, like the scions i think have i cant remember whos car i saw it in. a good place for you if you have just the regular single din radio is the storage cubby under the A/C or if your a non smoker the ash trey. the double din im putting in took away all of my good places because the AC gets shifted down and air ride display gets moved down to the ash trey spot. i might put it where the cig lighter is and just move that thing to the side like i say someone do here

And IMHO, i know you want to be different and all but I'm not feeling the black widow bumper, I know VRG is the same as the other galant but maybe VRG and adding a custom lip or bmw bumper of the other galant or something else.

I'm already hyped to see the end results and about all the VIP style thing, I wish I could bag my G but damn I can't pay the $900 for coilovers, I definitely can't bag it. How much is your air ride system going to cost you? and from where are you buying it?

i have my doubts about making the black widow work but its worth a try to be different if it looks too bad i'll go ahead and follow the crowd :102:

as far as the air ride im going to end up paying well over 4k (all together) since i bought the cheaper airbagit kit that i have had nothing but problems with so im going to replase it with the easystreet kit i shoulda bought the first time for around $2500 iirc

there are aftermarket vrg ;ips that are mad which sit much lower then the stock one. the 2 i have seen were actually real good looking and had a vip style to them. im not sure how much it would be to import one but im sure if you talked to trigger he could hook you up if your willing to pay.

i will see if i can find te site with them, although i had it saved on my old laptop which crashed a while back

i know not right now but i will cut aprox 6"s off of it give it that whole bottom lip design and put a single or couple of dividers in the wide open hole in the middle. keep in mind those god awful side vents are gone already and smoothed out. so all it needs is that style or a lip molded into it and fogs and then... updates?

eh not really... im still setting in the desert.
i did however pick up a different at shifter, a 3/8 brass valve setup which is going to look sexy under some plexi and suede, a 4 gal pancake tank, some uas bags for the front, ingall rear camber kits, and another 8g to daily or sale

im still ideating whether to keep the rear cans or get sleeves for the rear. the difference would be that i would give up maybe a inch 1/2 or rear tuckage for a smoother ride.

im also in the beginning stages of making a improvement to an existing product in the air ride community. (no names until i finish the prototype)

the slightly good news is im less than 2 wks out

i think this is turning out dam good so far

the tire is a bit large but i had to get somthing to see how it was going to look
size 225/40/19
i did listen to you guys about the 225/34/19s but they didnt have them at the shop.
on deep compression the top of the rim (including tire) tucks in with no problem. BUT
with the airbags going back on (some day) it is going to tuck to close to the tire in the back and looks like it will set on it. hopefully when i buy the new 225/35s 2maro it wont be so round and will clear the fender when i drop it on the ground in the rear.

im not worried about the front because its only a 11mm shift outwards and whats that like a third of a inch. so it should tuck with a slight pull on the 215/35/19s

i also picked up a yard of black ostrich gigady
and some leather (spray paint?) that the upholstery guy at the shop swares will look good and stay on threw daily abuse.

i have yet to find a shop that doesnt want my first born child in oreder to diamond stitch my dam seats so im going to spray mine black for now then order some more and just take them to the hack shack.

i got a real camera too but have nothing great to take pics of now lol

since i got rained out i desided to go buy a new gun to take my mind off of the car.

Are you planning to re-paint the car black too? I'm sorry if I missed you say it or not

GS fitments are pretty conservative compared to the rest of the VIP game. the car doesnt have a rear flare to set the wheels out further.

see all the rear rubber showing on my G. yours will look WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better cuz theres an actual stretch and the wheels are wider. my camber is a lil much for most here. try a mild 5mm spacer and buy the ingalls kit. you have to do a lil grinding to get it to run in reverse but you might like the way it looks. id finish your look first though to see how you like it. but the ingalls camber kit will also allow you to correct the camber a lil more to get your rim to sit even more flush if you dont want to use a spacer

fixed ur picture:

is ur car lowered? they way our suspension works, you will automatically get rear negative camber if you lower the car.

it's gonna look funny cambered w/ gap. if you can put a finger and touch the top of the tire there is gap. VIP fitment looks like this:

notice no gap.

VIPtint

its almost impossible to get a galant with no gap in the front unless you go uas bags over coilovers. ive noticed relax's car is pretty damn low in the front. it looks like my galant but my galant bottoms out like crazy on the stock struts. the coils have more travel in them. i got about a finger gap in the front on the 18s and am tucking half tire in the rear. thats the way it sits even to the ground. arches in the front are just huge.

what i was saying about the camber is that if he adds a spacer the wheel will stick out more showing more tire. but it will make the tire rub. to make it not rub is to camber a little more so that the top will tuck in. this will also poke the bottom of the tire out a little more adding even more tire sticking out.

that is the VRG update... it was available in almost every market except north america... so it's not strictly a "euro" bumper... JDM/worldspec would b more accurate.

for the OP's build, that bumper w/ an extended molded lip would work nicely!

I say do it....if you can afford to, I guess my opinion is......get the car perfect (or close to it) and THEN move on....

That is how these cars are, you will have to do some modifications to tuck in the front like 2kGalant does.

anything that runs a macphearson strut will be hard to slam.

have the same scenario on our Q45. to get that to tuck more we have to swap all the suspension to custom stuff made for the nissan s13. its not hard becuase its bolt on.

i may have my custom guy raise my towers to get it a little lower. but thats a big maybe.

REELAX you need to make sacrifices man. my galant build was pretty much dead, but 1500 for AR brings it back to life real quick.

im selling my vr6 supercharged mkII golf to fund this build so it might turn out pretty gangsta

who knows i may flake on everything though haha

i think you need a 10mm spacer on the rear. lookin good though.

if the USDM 8g shares the same rear setup as the VR4, then hypothetically, you should be able to fit a 19x10+27 with a 235 on it easily. you would hav to run about -5 degrees camber and pump the guards

the suspension is different between the USDM 8G and the JDM 8G, both front and rear. the USDM 8G galant is actually more closely related to the 3G eclipse than it is to the JDM galant.

Yes. The backspacing should clear the suspension. Not sure however if -5 degrees of camber will still allow the wheel and tire combo to clear the rear knuckle and C/arm though?

it's air ride so it's only low when it's down all the way... it's not gonna be driven around at that height all the time.

yeah I figured as much. That would be impossible haha. Imagine going down the 405 even an inch higher than that.. holy shit that would suck
