hey guys I was wondering if this type of heat was normal, btw this is on 90f weather with heavy-ish traffic [lots of stop-and-go].

OMG. Yeah is bad. check you coolant. Check your radiator make sure is not clogged. Also check the thermostat..

Does it fluctuate as you drive? For example, does it get hot at idle, then cool down as you get going?

I've had to replace everything... Radiator, hoses, thermostat, heater core, etc

DANG IT!, well i got coolant, and it appears that my radiator flows well, since it sucks water from the reservoir every now and then.

well, it starts to overheat after 10 mins of driving, and it does it very slowly, and yeah it cools down at faster speeds. man...well i guess im going to start with the thermostat, and then radiator....hopefully is not that expensive.

-another thing to the list...*grabs m16 and shoots everywhere*

Check for leaks.... Could very well be the thermostat. Radiator should be no more than about $150. Try getting a fail-safe thermostat while you're at it.

My galant has been like that lately inthis hot Florida heat. My temp fluctuates but not as bad as his. When I get on the highway goes down. Could this be the thermostat? Coolant temp sender? Crap bugs me as it usually does this in the first twenty minutes of driving and sometimes I can see little drips coolant coming out from the top radiator hose

I will recommend doing a coolant flush to the radiator. Take it to a shop or u could do it. double check radiator it could be that is not flowing coolant right, since you are saying that is cooling off while going at higher speed. Dont mess with engine overheating because it could damage internals parts of the engine and it will cost you a lost of $$$$ for repairs.

PS. make sure your radiator fans are operational meaning it should turn on when engine is on operating temperature.

Well, I bought a sealant a couple of days ago although I wasnt too happy to use it [it looked like brown sewer water] but my problem has gotten better apparently, I also gotta keep in mind that it hasnt been as hot outside. I going to buy a thermostat today though.

Well yesterday I went in to replace the thermostat...and there was none. So i guess that was the main root of my problem. Now with the new one in everything looks good so far.
