1. remove dome light housing just use a credit card from behind it will pop right out.

2. depress plug and remove housing

3. cut off connector piece coming off led bored (none of the adapters will work on the 8g housing because of the odd bulb)

4. remove old bulb, remove lens (carefully push down tab and push out then pop it completely out by pushing out the hinge side). remove 3m tape from led board and stick it on the housing

5. solder the wires to the tabs the bulbs used to connect to ( i didnt use the tab that goes inside i just soldered it above the tab)

I did this same mod on my car, i used the red ones, you can buy them on ebay or if you dont wanna wait then they sell them at autozone too in a couple different colors and sizes

just did ours last night, it was a little finicky on pos neg wire, had to change a few times but a fairly simple install. dont mess with the clear lens too much, if you take it out more than once or twice they start to get loose and the hinge gets bent.

also did the rear dome light, lens pops out with screwdriver and 2 screws to take it down. same just soldered to the bulb install points.

does make a big difference, much brighter

thanks for the write up

I know this is an older post, but I made a video using the same idea as joegalant. If anyone is interested in the before and after of the LEDs then check it out. It was easier than I thought it would be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5haVLWDqr_A
