Hey all,

I was thinking about picking this up at Amazon for $160ish- http://mobile.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL028630&pathId=148&page=1

Only problem is that the faceplate isn't detachable and I'm worried about having it stolen (my car doesn't have an alarm installed).

I really like this head unit, but I don't want to buy it if it'll just attract low-life thieves to my car. Should I just be safe and buy a single din unit with a detachable faceplate?

Thanks in advance :)

PS: This is the unit I'd get if I had to get a single din one. I'm really only interested in the multi-color options and the AUX-in.

Personally, the only time I would get a double din was if it was a touch screen unit. If you're just looking for an audio head unit, and no video feature, I would go with a solid single DIN.

looks like a home stereo. but like he said above, if you have no video, its judt a waste of space. you can get a car head-unit for about half the price of that if you search for one enough. and get the keep the lil hole in the center

The reason why I wanted to get a double din stereo like the one I posted is because I want it to look stock. I was planning on removing the JVC branding to make it look OEM.
