What is the correct torque specification on the trans fluid pan bolts? Thanks.

14 INCH pounds.
not foot pounds.

dont use chiltons for reference. its probably the worst source of auto knowledge on the planet.

Majority of the information matches up with my mitsu manual. Chiltons has stupid errors everynow and then or they forget completely to tell u how to unbolt certain parts. Other then that..it answers all the stupid lil questions that majority of people have.

On the Galant it dosen't seem to matter. I just snugged them (about 10 in/lbs?) and there were no leaks. Some trannys are more tempermental and have to be tighter else they leak. Anything around 1 ft/lb should be good. I always liked to use a 1/4" ratchet when doing tranny work to ensure I didn't damage anything.
