New Hood Designs

Heres the short version...Im in the middle of a deal with Extreme Dimensions to make a new Hood For the car outta Duraflex. I DONT WANT CRITICISM ON MY PHOTOSHOP ABILITIES i just want votes for the ones you like. If you have ideahs on vent types/placement. Use your comp to draw red arrow lines to show where you like to see vent placed and Private message it to me dont post your ideahs heare leave it open for votes only.

This is a serious deal in the works along with a bumper deal i secured this morning (i will make a seperate post about that) and im proud to be able to finally contribute more to our platform than just text so please keep this professional and on topic.

Guys i know that most of us long term 8g lifers try to stay away from the ricer look but we have to remember this isnt a group buy its a new design to sell to the world and unfortunatley 75% of the buying public is into the ricer vent styles. thats why i made #4 its basically a redesigned evo with the placement of our short ram in mind. so when you pick try to think more on a mass market sense than personal. Im going to repost this at the top too. I appologize to the mods if thats against the rules.

Heres a work up with a more discrete outbound air flow. with the three small flat inlets about the same size as the ones we add to the bumper infront of the crashbar. and a wider but flater(like the monster) inlet for the airfilter area.

Are 1 and 3 different at all? My vote is 4 with maybe a more discrete filter hole or none at all.

What would be the point of designing a new RICE hood for the 8g mass market, if the hood look rice your not going to get interest from this forum. If you tell me lets design a new Mega Rice hood for a civic, then that would be an instant success and profitable.

thats why i made #4 its not rice, and i did leave you guys the option to pm ideahs and changes that i will be able to put on the drawing table. i have to turn in 3 hood designs and it will go from there. What i have posted are ideahs they arent set in stone i can change them around as i see fit. as far as this forum goes there are a lot more people on the forum than just us main people that post on a reg which frankly is about 30 people. we have hundreds of people who join and never post, they just surf our forums looking for ideahs and info. those people dont care if us main bodies dont like rice they buy and install what they want hence why we have a laugh at rice thread. My main concern is to get something made that makes Extreme dimensions enough profit that they are willing to Let us design a TGC specific Hood. If i design a Hood that only us 30 like and only 5 of us buy it with a few more overan extended time period they wont want to do further business because they wont have made any real world money of the initial investment.

i know all of these are rough photoshop but looking at all these i dont like any of them. My favorite hood is the monsterhood if you can make it look better than that, then I buy it.

Too many vents... I'd rather have the evo hood. But if someone had a gun to my head, I'd pull the trigger myself.
Hopefully someone will PM you better "ideahs" or pics... Not my taste.
I appreciate the time & effort though.

Im with the others i wouldnt want any of those hoods made for the g. who would buy them ricers? do they deserve a hood made for them from a helping member of tgc? no

only if it looked like this with the bulge of the monster hood. look how define the hood lines are and how the vents follow it(notice the vents are smooth). If the hood looked like this then ricer , tuner , jdm , hellaflush anybody who liked it would buy it.

what about something with the new evo x style two front vents for air to escape, then instead of the center duct on the evo hood, move that part over to the monster hood inlet location. basically a revamped monster style based off of the new evo. clean and functional with a touch of modern style

or if you want something more geared for the "ricer" crowd, how bout this (although get rid of the super-wide dual front inlet scoop thing and you may have a winner with the rest of the vent/duct placement):

See if you come up wiht a design where the vents are flushed with the hood and not have it look like u just molded an universal vent on it the quicks. I actually like that Evo X hood maybe something like that one.
