I now have 129k miles on my 3.0 2002 Galant. Just replaced the timing belt and crank & cam seals. I noticed that I am using about 1.5 quarts of oil every 3k miles. There is not one drop of oil under the car ever and no smoke from the exhaust. In fact the engine is squeeky clean and there is no oily soot in the tail pipe at all, it's even the expected beige color. I don't think that the cat can burn up that much oil smoke. I cannot figure out where the heck the oil is going and that is a lot of oil to lose?!?! I think that I have an oil drinking gremlin.
