So today my husband cleared my corners. He put hyper white bulbs in replacing the amber ones.

Why does it look like shit? I think it looks so tacky to be able to see the light bulb itself. Is there anything I can do....and he also scratched the hell out of it trying to get the orange piece out!

To top it all off....he didn't disconnect the battery....how will this affect my car?

I don't think thats its a must to disconnect the battery when clearing your corners, I didn't.

As far as the corners looking tacky, well I think cleared corners look awesome. Maybe you should of asked more questions about the corners before you actually did it. There is a bulb out there that is chrome looking and it'll kind of blend in with the housing of the corners so the bulb won't stand out as much.

If anyone knows the site where that bulb is please post for GalantGirl.

Sorry about the scratched up lenses thats the risk we all took. I scratced mine just a little bit but yuo can't tell unless yuo get down and really look at it.

Disconnect you battery? I know I didn't when I did my corners. It won't have any effect on your car. That is unless your husband decided to start sticking his fingers in the bulb harnesses. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif Some scratching is almost expected when doing this mod. Although if he really scratched them up there really isn't much you can do unless you pay for a new set. Why do you think they look stupid? By CLEARING your corners your are allowing your lights to be seen. If you don't like the color of the bulbs you could always switch back to an amber bulb or take the lens apart and put some light tint over the corners so they aren't completly see-thru. Hope this helps.

Do you think clear cornors will look alright with the stock amber bulbs showing through on a white Galant?

Honestly..... NO but if yuo want to retain the amber color yuo can always get those chrome bulbs that lite amber.

they are APC titanium bulbs. you can get amber, blue, green purple, red or superwhite. u can get them from anywhere that sells APC products ( usually they will have to order them) or try streetbeatcustoms.com/titaniumbulbs.html ('http://streetbeatcustoms.com/titaniumbulbs.html')

http://www.xtremewhite.com ('http://www.xtremewhite.com') usually has good prices on polarg chromatic bulbs, which are the chrome tinted bulbs you might be wanting. I have a set of amber (wish i had gotten blue now), and have had no problems with them at all.[/url]

Yeah you can get the APC Titanium bulbs from your local PEP Boys too, but I gotta warn you....THESE BULBS DON'T FIT CORRECTLY!!!! Well at least mine didn't. They didn't fit securely in the harness, i think that they are cheaply made or something because both of the bulbs contacts are not making contact with the proper points in the harness. When I installed mine, only the turn signals were operational and not the parking lights. Has anyone else tried using these bulbs yet? Maybe I just got a bad set.

make sure u don't have them on backwards. i got mine and yea they work just like the stock ones. you just have to make sure they are in the right way.

and yea u can't see the bulb unless u look really close, you just see a reflector.

you can also get the chrome bulbs at procarparts.com - plus watch their ebay auctions - you can usually get a better price. They also have the best looking clear corner bulbs Ive seen yet - the brightest and the whitest. I've been through about 6 different brands and I would recommend these for anyone -- both for the clear corners and the reverse lights.

I'm referring to the super hyper white blue bulbs - they have a dark blue tint to them but they look great. I would recommend these over the chrome covered bulbs

Mine fit perfectly too. The only thing I had to do is just lift the connectors in the harness to make a good connection. Sounds like you might have tried to put them in backwards, like Allan said.

Ok...i'll try it again today, and try lifting the connectors too before taking them back. I'll let you know how it goes. I really hope this works this time, cause they do blend in well with the cleared corners.

hey galantgirl, I see that your husband does some modes to your car (btw, is it your or his)..... and you do not like it so much.....
I think it is funny though. I 've been reading some posts of yours (like that one about the muffler) and I was laughing hard..... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif
Keep us posted, how your husband modify that galant of yours.... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif
I found it really funny as I am reading it... Maybe you should write a diary containig list of mods that your husband has done so far and name it "My husband's mods." or something.

Those are the worst bulbs i ever bought, and i have bought a LOT https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

I bought the "SuperWhite" titanium bulbs and they didn't work for shit when compared to the normal APC "SuperWhite" 1157 marker bulbs.

I'd recommend against buying them, just buy the normal blue superwhite bulbs they work much better. That or visit www.lightlens.com and purchase the "ultra-white" "match your halogen headlights" 1157 marker bulbs, those are AWESOME!!
