-Source: 92-98 Sonata
-Engine Code: G4CP
-Design: 2G like intake ports; 96-98 has the cam sensor behind the intake cam gear: i.e. Galant GS, 95-96 2G Turbo; smaller combustion chamber(43cc)
-Pros: Higher air velocity, cheaper than the 2G head, can use the intake manifold(shorter than the 2G and has a slightly larger plenum than the 1G IM; 60mm bore)
-Cons: None.

thats what i have right now, just swapped the 252/252 cams in it and my new Evo3 intake manifold (talking about high air velocity ). If you look in my thread I had that same manifold before the Evo3 and now Skrap has it. My head came off 97 sonata and I prefer the hyundai head before any turbo head, because 1. most likely it never got harassed(it never saw turbo) and 2. its a hyundai (these cars almost never see any hard driving, high RPMage and stuff)

Yea, not to mention the IM bore is 60mm. You can add Skunk2 68mm TB on that thing.
If I use this head on my head, it would have been running a long time ago but I want to use the Cyclone IM though so I had to the 4G67 head.

Why do you need to use the Mitsubishi caps?

what is the approx bump in C/R?

from 10:1 to about 10.5:1 for gs and from 9.5:1 to 10:1 for sohc motors

so it would yield a noticeable bump in low end torque? Iam saving up for the HKS 264/272 combo and have read that cam set is great for mid and tapers off up high so would the bump in C/R help that down low?

these cam would be great for turbo 4g63, not so much for low revving 4g64

For an N/A engine your need bigger lift intake cam not exhaust. 264/264 would yield most power thru the entire RPM range. There are stock upgrades with 264/260 duration used on some 7g GS and all 6g vr-4 AMG tuned, the mitsu part numbers are escaping me now, but i know they are around $200 a piece. JNZ carries them

EDIT:

Here's the post about the cams

Hyundai cams have a slightly smaller diameter, using the hyundai caps on the Mitsu cams will cause the cams to freeze up in place.

The GS cams and HKS 264 cams have the same duration at .050" but the HKS has more lift, that will yield increase power thru the whole power band and crisper throttle response.

The 264/272 will still give you the same performance as the 264s but will give a slight increase of top end, the midrange camss. The 272/264 will give you more top end with a slight decrease of top end. DeltaCams can regrind stock cams for $250 or $350 for new billets.
