I got everything on my car already for the JDM new style convertion. Front bumper fits like a glove. Headlights after cuting and trimming...they line up with the hood perfectly. Now, I just cannot seem to be able to fit the new style grill.

I know the 2 upper clip tabs will not align with the stock holes, and I know some people have relocated them to clip onto the radiator support....and I also knoe some of have just trimmed one side of the upper clips to be able to clip it into the holes. The bottom tabs should clip into the headlights....thats what I have been told. My problem is that not even the bottoms line up. If I tried to force it in; both tabs will bend outwards towards the headlamp to be able to snap in place. ( I am afraid to brake them)

Again, my headlights are perfecly aligned with the bumper and the hood, but that issue got me good. I also noticed it leaves quite large gaps between the headlights and the grill (maybe because it's not going completely in and not closing the gaps)

Also its a little hard to close my hood now....it's got more resistence and in bounces back up, unless you let it drop from high above.

Any suggestions? pics??

Its the grill or headlights OEM or aftermarket? If everything is original stuff they should fit perfectly. And remember that the lower part of the grill must be clipped on first since the bumper have to be attached to the bottom of the grill

Everything is OEM.

if there is an excessive gap between the headlights and grill, the headlights are still not all the way in; trim some more of the radiator rail or the headlights or both. pics would help also wo we can better diagnose the fitment.

yep, if the grill is not going in right, then you may have to move them in or out or even up or down a little

All parts are finally installed...so my complete JDM conversion is on the car. still need minor ajustments here and there, but everything looks good! I was able to mount the grill, but I still ended up with a gap on each side of about 1 centimeter...maybe a little less...but could not make it so the grill would sit flush (no gap what so ever) to both headlights....as JDM cars probably are manufactured. I dont know if anyone here at TGC has been able to do so. It almost makes me think that JDM galan't frame in the front actually converts more inwards and make the hole front of the car be "narrower" by a minimum amount that is unnoticeble by our untrainned bare eye....

Anyways IT LOOKS AMAZING!!! it's incredible how this conversion make our cars look so exotic. I have seem many pictures of cars with JDM conversions, but another different story is when you see one in person!!

I will post pictures next weekend.

Glad you got all figured out. Post pics!
On a side note, its spelled "conversion" not convertion.

umm huh? my JDM conversion gap is no bigger than the stock JDM or stock USDM gaps:

I wonder, if you also convert the interior too into JDM interior....... if not it's not fully converted.

there is no such thing as a complete conversion... if everything is converted (and i mean everything) to make it complete, that would make the car a JDM car. the JDM interior shares some details w/ the USDM car but for the most part they are not alike.

Havnt seen any detail at all that are the same in USDM and JDM/EUDM :P

look harder... the interior door handles/locks are swappable; like i said, details.

Steering wheel, and maybe the rear seats, and front seats. Possibly the glovebox

EVERYTHING inside of the JDM galant is different from a USDM. In my opinion, JDM interior is much nicer than USDM, and made with better quality products. The material in which the dash and the consoles are superior (not the sh...ty plastic our dashes are made out of) The shape of the center console, A/C controls and vents, blacked out cluster, NARDI steering wheels, etc; have a nicer and more sophisticated look. I wish we could convert our cluster and dashes to JDM, but to my knowledge; the wiring is different.

in general the JDM/worldspec galants are in fact much nicer than the USDM version... but this is also by design. the JDM/worldspec galant was marketed as a more upscale/luxury vehicle as opposed to the USDM's family car/grocery getter role. if the JDM and USDM galants were in the same market they probably wouldn't even be in the same segment. the JDM/worldspec galant was closer in appeal to the USDM diamante as it was available w/ extras that were never available in the US such as GPS/NAV/DVD, digital/auto climate control, turbo, AWD etc. remember when complaining about the USDM galant, the JDM/worldspec galant also was more expensive across the board when new as well.
