2000 gtz 3.5 auto slipping

just did a 3.5 swap in my 2000 gtz. i took it for a ride n noticed now it has a slip going into 3rd and 4th gear. did'nt do that before the swap..... any input?

just did a 3.5 swap in my 2000 gtz. i took it for a ride n noticed now it has a slip going into 3rd and 4th gear. did'nt do that before the swap. i noticed my fluid is dark but i was once told not to change the fluid unless it was done when supposed to. i got the car with 99000 and now have 150000. and i know i never did it and doubt the previous owner serviced the trans either..... any input? thanks guys

Start with a full transmission fluid FLUSH, and go from there. Also, use only Mitsubishi Diamond SPIII transmission fluid.

Sound like your tranny is on it's way out. At this point, you're best bet is the 5-speed M/T from a 3G Eclipse, 2G Stratus Coupe, or 2G Sebring Coupe.

you dont think the flush with kill it? i used to have a 99 gtz and i did the service to it and about a month later it blew up. was not sure if it was the service or my driving lol.... how much does a 5 speed swap go for?

Recheck the mechanical operation of the transmission, if all checks out, start with a flush before you condemn the entire transmission.
