Got the service light!!!!

Ok i got a 03 galant and my service engine soon light came on. i had a mechanic at the shop i work at to hook up his scanner. when he did that and looked to see what it was no code came up. the car still is running the same as b4 the light came on. does anyone know what it might be or has anyone had this happen b4?

dis-connect your battery, if the light comes back up try using the OBD/Scanner again

make sure your gas cap is screwed on tight. that happened to me before after i had put gas in my tank, i didnt screw the cap back on tight and my SES light was on until I double checked my tank

ok i did like joshua42007 and dis connected the battery and then put it back. the light is off for now and i hope it stays that way.

All you did is reset it. If you really do have a problem, the light will come back on.

yea its back on. i got a diff. mechanic at the shop i work for thats gonna look at it for me today since i don have a scanner. i just hope he can find something this time around.

my guess o2 sensor. had the same problem

the light was the o2 sensor in bank 1 but now i got worse problems. i got in and started it yesterday morning to go to work and herd a noise so i had my mechanic look and sure enough i got a knock in the motor. any body know where i can find a motor kinda cheap and quick?

i looked but no luck here in my area i guess i gotta look farther away and see if i can get lucky. my boss found me a motor but its got 124000 and the front motor mount was ripped out of the timing cover
