Last Friday, I left the shop around 7:30pm. Later that night, I got a phone call from an unknown number. Just a couple of minutes later I got another phone call from an unknown number.

So I check my voicemails. First is from the security company saying that there was a motion sensor alarm. The second call was from the Maple Grove fire department saying they've detected a fire.

So I quickly drove to the shop and this is what I saw...

I saw my boss Brian, and I asked him what happened. He said that a Buick was on fire.

Indeed, it was...

And then it got towed away.

We don't know exactly what happened. The car was in for a lower intake gasket, and thats pretty routine.

Anyway, that was the only car that was serious damaged. All the other cars in the shop that night have smoke damage, and no other major damage to the shop. It could have been alot worse.

The car owner took then news pretty good... well, as good as you can when your car gets burned to the ground.

damn Pete! That sucks. I wonder what happened. Intake gaskets are about as routine as it gets on those GM V6's too. There must have been something else going on with that car. At least insurance should take care of something like that and the building isn't in a pile of ashes.

The shop insurance will cover it 100%. We talked to the customer, and apparently he did mention having some generic electrical issues. Who knows, the mystery will never be solved!

he rigged it to burn after close....................

LOL! Yup, he ran in there after closing (hence the motion sensor alarm), then he set that bitch on fire bcz he realized he didnt have the money to pay the shop for the work being done, & wanted a new car anyway. Win-Win situation! Quite brilliant in fact! Lol! Case Closed.
Dont believe me? Call Horatio to the scene!
Yeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!! LMAO!
