New User- with a 91 Galant

i purchased a 1992 galant sedan
SOHC AUTO

i bought it as a no-run
that being said, i have had the car running for a few seconds on a couple of occasions

it has- known good coil, distributer and whatever the hell little black thing inside of it

new cap rotor


while checking for spark, ive noticed a few times that it will spark a coulpe times, then no spark
i suspect that teh coil isnt recieving adequete signal to fire....


what do you guys think?


if i cant fix it asap- anyone want it? ill sell it for what i have into it (about 500)

after some research ive heard trhat the ecus are fragile in these cars, i need a fix!!

Welcome to TGC.

I would check all the wires, make sure there isn't any corrosion on any of the connectors. Did you replace the spark plugs? How is the distributor rotor look? Are the distributor cap prongs clean internally?

new cap and rotor- it is not sparking at all-so at this point the plugs are irrelevant. but they are ok

all plus on and in very good shape actually
