Unless you have some type of experience with body work i suggest taking it to a body shop & let the professionals install it

You have to be creative when installing body kits. No two kits are the same, even though they look alike. IF i ever buy a body kit again i would stay away from fiberglass. Its a ROYAL bitch to install a body kit AND make it look right. Dont just use double sided tape for the kit. Some nice stainless steel screws and stuff does the trick. Good luck!

it is not fiberglass its pfrp. Is that the same as duraflex? The guy i got it off of purchased it from aitracing.com. it still had all the stckers on it. I do have a little auto body experience. I have worked with fiberglass several times with great results.

my first problem is removing the bumper. I took out 2 bolts on both sides near the fenders (behing fender guards), removed headlight and removed all screws from the top of the bumper, and removed 2 screws in the lip under the L plate cover. The thing wont come off. anyone know if theres anything else i missed?

Well if this is your first time doing a body kit, Take it to a shop. You will either have to remove the reinforcement bar completely or Mod both the reinforcement bar and the bumper. I bought my car with the cyber two on it but the reinforcement was removed which in my opinion... is a bad thing...

So after gotten into an incident =/ .. i needed a new bumper.... So i bought a reinforcement bar while i was at it. and got someone to mod it and weld it. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs151.snc4/36926_1407335267578_1358310411_31291223_4877845_n. jpg

The bumper may also need to be cut a little bit to be able to fit.. by the vents...

But I am in love with that cyber 2 kit for some reason. It's got a mean look to it.

As far as the actual instal, I just had two screws on each side screw into the fender, and then I used screw entry by the headlights, located on the radiator support. Drilled a hole in the bumper and used that as support.

I'm not sure if u got the cyber 1 or cyber 2.. but i feel like it's just about the same deal...

Nice. It's always good to know people. =) You have any picks? I'd love to see what you;re up to. also is it just the bumper? or the whole kit. It might look a tad funky if you dont get the whole kit i feel.

I need to remove all of my tv's from the inside. i took my car to a shop and they somehow fried all of my tv's and stereo and said they didnt do it even though i had all of my screens on while driving to the shop.

i got it off craigslist. the guy got it for his galant a couple years ago and it broke down and he never put it on. the sideskirts look just like yours. are those cyber 2 skirts? did you put those on yourself. i dry fitted min and they didnt really seem to fit all all. but they say 99 galant on the inside of them.

does anyone have an opinion on molding the kit to the car? He said that the way he would do it if i wanted.

if you live in an area with a lot of bumps potholes and bad driving surfaces do not get it molded, if you live in an area that gets a lot of snow, stay away from being molded if they arent using a poly filled blend. and since you plan on doing "More Work" to the car, if any of that is engine/suspension then dont get it molded in the front cause youll have to break the molds to take it of for engine work, if you lower it you dont want it molded till after you determine your needed height for driveway and local gas stations. scrapping a molded bumper makes a lot of cracks

woaaa... great deals.. where do u live? haha. And they were kinda like nailed in? idk i didnt install those, but i'm pretty sure they weren't modified to fit. and ye, they are cyber 2's. I need to buy new side skirts too after i fix my G up again, among other things. Lol

Im in San Antonio. I search for deals for a while before i spend my money. i been looking for a body kit for about a year now and finally found one that was cheap. I like things that look and work good and dont cost alot.

quick question. noticed on some galants with the cyber kit that the 2 pillars that go up in the grill go all the way up to the hood and some have a gap. what was done to make the difference is there gonna have to be fiberglass added to the pillares to make them longer?

got up and did it myself i really didnt want to wait. I have fiberglass experience, so it really wasnt that hard once i actually tried. this is my first body kit install. I have chose to mold the rear bumper and side skirts. Front bumper intall was easy. rear, i had some problems. i just cut the lip in half and temp mounted on both sides.in the morning i will fiberglass the space in the rear bumper. The side skirts are a different story i know they are going to be a pain. if i cant figure it out i will just pay to have them installed. Im really happy with the ways things look now.

i will post. i am going to post pics of the cyber rear from start to finish. and side skirts if i think i can make them look right. the front bumper is common sense, a little bit of dremal work, but easy. i may have took the hard route for the rear but it will look clean.

Nice... You have to modify reinforcement at all for the original Cyber? or remove it?

sorry for not updating but i have been real busy. I got the front on myself and took it to the shop for the side skirts. Got the headlights and rear lights smoked and all of the mesh painted black. I'm going to order a new bumper i wasn't feeling the rear lip. Its all painted now. and looking clean

I never understand why anyone would smoke their headlights. Its a huge safety issue.

Da_Prodigy

The only reason I would smoke my headlights was if my car was for show or track.

i got hid's they are still brighter than stock.

03-29-2011, 09:45 PM
I'm not on a hating rant either, but HID's or not, anything that limits your visibility of the road ahead of you at night is a potential safety hazard. Safety > Looks any day.

Car looks good otherwise. Keep it up.

I'm looking into airbags. I don't see any safety issue since they are still brighter than stock. I'm also putting in hid fogs.

im going to connect mulltiple sirens. 1 in the car one in the trunk and a train horn under my bumper. the good news is that the kid down the street knew who did it and he gave his address and and name to the police. they pulled lots of prints so hes going to jail.

the old razor blade on hood latch will do the trick too. i am more upset that i didn't catch them. i have two big s taffy's that would have tore them up. the coip told me dont shoot em if i catch them, but its not illegal for my dogs to push the door open and get out when im going outside while your breaking into my car.
