well after all the head-gasket trouble i had, i finally just took it to a mechanic to figure out what the problem was.....well he really didn't help, all he suggested was to replace the engine.
my question is how can i tell if it's the engine that's blown, the cylinder head is not a problem replacing but i want to be sure that it's the block causing the problems.
i still have compression coming through the radiator and the car tuns over but won't crank(no fire).
some sense of direction would be much appreciated

its a blown head gasket. and a couple of other things do a compression test that should be a dead giveaway

Boo! 75! lol
if he goes for that, he's going to have to obtain quite a few parts from a 6G74

Direct engine replace = easy
6G74 swap = almost just as easy
Buy a Haynes Manual. It'll help a lot

well i have the haynes manual so it looks like i'm in good shape......but is it cheaper taking the block to a machine shop or getting a used one.
6g74....what's the upside to this engine?
