Need help with rims!

Hi, I would like to know if one of these rims or both would fit on my 2003 Galant ES. The specs of the rims are:
17"x8", 35 offset and 5x112 bolt pattern
17"x7", 38 offset and 5x100 bolt pattern

no no no, offset/width/size/tire size all play a factor.

In general, a 17" diameter, 7-7.5" wide wheel around 42 offset will work unless you are after some really wide tires or have a big brake kit making the design a big factor too.
